I'll Be Home for Christmas by slaymesoftly A very happy Christmas indeed -- I really enjoyed reading this, thank you so much! Thanks for reading and commenting. I so glad you had fun with it. :) Aw, that's sweet. I admit I kept expecting Spike to kind of 'break through', but I guess the whole point is that he didn't, he just stayed hazily in the background, gently affecting Bill's behaviour while Buffy adjusted to loving the whole man. You didn't say what was engraved on the ring. Enquiring minds (well, nosey Parkers) want to know. And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Nope - Spike's done all the "breaking through" he's going to do. This is really a Buffy/Other story in which Spike is just happy that she's happy. I didn't say what was on the ring - probably something short and sweet. :) Thanks for reading and commenting. :) Good job, Bill! Now he's saying "mate"? It sounds like Spike is really taking over. Minor correction. The word you meant was "extraordinary" and not "ordinary" since Buffy surely is not ordinary. LOL Spike does slip a word or two in occasionally. Just something Bill has to get used to. :) Dammit, I wrote a review and when I hit send, I discovered that my internet had gone down while I was reading so I lost it all. Now then... what did I say? Um.. Of course I knew it, but it's not until Buffy tries to list her nearest and dearest that it hits home just how restricted her social circle is, just by very nature of the life of a slayer. And it that a little co-parenting I see starting there? And here's a smoochie interruptus, but for once not by demons... And I like Jack. Someone recognises Buffy for who and what she is, and appreciates her for it. I bet that doesn't happen very often nowadays, with the former population of Sunnydale scattered to the four winds... Now what? can't wait... Almost done! Probably post both the last chapter and the epilogue together tomorrow. Thanks for reading! Aw, that's lovely. No Riley issues here, then. Nope. Bill is made of tougher stuff. :) Joyce rocks. Thanks. It's possible she might rate her own story one of these days. :) You are pretty Awesome slaymesoftly. his is a good continuation, I just finished reading the other two. Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying this one. magnus374 12/25/2015 07:40 pm Eight There are indeed a coplicated situation, but Joyce is trying to be helpful in her own way. It is very complicated. Lots of potential problems for them.... Joyce takes after her father in that she talks a lot of sense. She's not one to ignore the central problem. :) I love the idea that Spike's love for Buffy would find a way back. If there was a way, he would find it. Or maybe the PTB found it for him. Who knows? magnus374 12/25/2015 07:32 pm Seven We do have some answers then. It does complicate things for Buffy and Bill though. There is a lot for them to think about. Some obstacles to overcome, for sure. Thanks for reading. Wow! It looks like Buffy is freezing up understandably. Very strange situation. Maybe they need time to mull over everything..let is sink in? Definitely need some time. magnus374 12/25/2015 07:25 pm six I had the same thought about Bill and the accident, that something from Spike came into him, not sure exactly what though. :) Well, I have to say that's more or less what I had theorised. Yay for supportive Willow! Can't wait.... :) cryptwarmer 12/24/2015 02:43 am six Loving this! Yay! magnus374 12/25/2015 07:12 pm Chapter Five Really good talking and that accident clearly changed a lot for him. It did - more than he knows. :) Idly wonder whether something supernatural happened to Bill when he had that accident and was in the coma for so long... the character similarities are a little too perfect match for random genes in his ancestry... The mutual attraction is very strong... almost as if it was meant to be... La, la, la - *hums and blinks innocently* I think the next chapter might answer some of those questions. Loved this chapter. Thanks. Yay! Thanks for telling me so. :) “Dinner is pissed off that you’re ruining her date,” Priceless line! It seemed very Buffyish to me. :) magnus374 12/25/2015 06:36 pm Four I liked how they talked and Buffy explained about her world. Good thing he'd already heard about slayers, though. :) magnus374 12/25/2015 06:22 pm Two I liked how Buffy helped him out against that woman. She stepped right up, didn't she? :) A nice change of pace, and original too. Thank you. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. :) Theresa 12/20/2015 03:47 am Two Very good thus far!! Also, very different (read aORIGINAL) premise. Never read anything using this type of storyline. Excellent!! Thank you for sharing your talent with the rest of us. Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. :) magnus374 12/25/2015 06:13 pm Prologue and Chapter One This was done well. Buffy's reaction to seeing a man that reminds her so much about Spike. We got some small glimpses into her life. It will be interesting to see how this will play out. Thank you. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. I remember Hearts breaking even very well, but I had to go and re-read The last Goodbye. Okay, definitely intrigued. Is this Spike shanshued or is it a descendent of William's before he was turned, or a cousin of sorts? Can't wait.... LOL All of the above? Well, not Spike shanshued, cause I've already done that a few times... but you'll see. Fairly soon actually. :) | |||
