oh, this chapter was so. super. good! i loved it! the way you include all the buffy characters and creatures with slightly different names... i shall forever adore that. it is amazing. oh, do i sense willow/tara-ness?? love the new twists. can't wait to find out how they'll fight against the terr-khan.
Have had enormous fun twisting the names too, although it's sometimes hard to keep the new spellings as I type. Love that you love it. Thanks.

It's a delight to see more of this vivid, entertaining story. Buffy's initial angry reaction to Spike was understandable, but him keeping her away from the torture shows he certainly would have acted differently given the same circumstances. I like that Giles was surprised at the gesture, maybe it will stick with him, making him understand these two factions aren't as dissimilar as he believes.
Having Buffy wake to Anjell's coup as a fait accompli helped keep the story moving forward rather than bogging it down in a fight. I love that Anjell asks questions rather than resort to Giles' torture technique, another tactic that should sway Giles that they're all on the same side. They're going to need to trust one another if they're to stand up to Nesst, Darla, Kralykk and the Terr-Khan.
The enemies back story is creepy, especially being related to Spike and Anjell. It will be interesting to see how that is going to play out.
Of course there's tension between Buffy and Spike. He's been betrayed and Dorn and Tarah were nearly violated. I don't know how she's going to get back in his good graces, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

Thanks for your thoughtful review it is very much appreciated. I have finally reached the point of getting them onto the next stage of their adventures. Although Spike would be well within his rights to be fed up with Buffy I ended up being lenient with her in the next chapter. Not all hugs and puppies though. I am trying to make Giles a pragmatic leader in this so 'demons bad' will be more Riley's refrain instead. Plenty of mistrust flying about still though - from all quarters. Glad you're enjoying.
