Really liking this story. More please!

So wonderful to see Spike hanging on to his cool (in his own special way -lol) and thinking things through.

Well, you sure know how to keep your readers off balance!  The confusing beginning, the ...cheese? 
I'm enjoying this story, and wondering what you've got planned for the rest of the trial.

Surely Spike can longjump 4 metres... with the hope that the wall is an illusion... or perhaps not... hmm... Ingenious test.

 If the nightmare opening is anything to go by, this is going to be grand guignol horror all the way.  Perfect!  I love a bit of horror.  Spike knows about the trickery and misleads, let's hope he keeps his head!

there has to be an escape for our vamp hero - seems like something being earth-bound should not necessarily have to work same in a different plane -

your description of the imagined funeral was very effective - it felt like just what Spike would have felt had it been real.   Not only Buffy's nightmares but like Spike's also - the worst that could have would be for him to fail.

Had a feeling it might be holy water. Interesting trial. The way you weave this story is amazing, Holly. I look forward to the next update.
