Wonderful update.  High on tension and action and more backstory as well.  Yes they will make them pay and dearly.

Love the tenderness between Andii and Ahnja (and the echo of her dying while saving him in canon not to mention the diagonal cut that killed her).

I really love your use of canon characters in this new and unique way.  Excellent.  Could easily be altered into an original work yet still plays well with the Buffy characters.

Lovely to see an update.  I find myself completely enamored with your perfect blend of Spuffy angst, along with such a compelling and spell binding tale.  It's incredible how it can feel so familiar and yet so new

It's also a "hoot" trying to place some of the "new" spelling of names with the various characters.  I admit, sometimes if it isn't a main player it takes me a moment or two to sound out the name.(I'm a bit slow.) <G>

Looking forward to more... and more...and more.  Ta!

This was another richly detailed, entertaining chapter.  Andii's prowess as a storyteller was a nice surprise.  He's usually used for comic interludes, so it's nice that you changed the character up here. He did have a keen mind in canon, though it was seldom used.

The prophecy is intriguing, and I'm left wondering who the three hearts refer to.  I'm sure it will all be clear once the prophecy begins unfolding.

The shocking prophecy believably sent Buffy to seek comfort in Spike's arms.  These two are becoming closer every day.  I loved the image of them quietly, hurriedly dressing for battle.  Spike lending a hand felt right, and her more battle worthy outfit seems like it was much needed.

The brutal attack on the city was well drawn, and the events taking place in the village square are violent and frightening.  Dalla has the town in a strangle hold.  I don't see many of these villagers surviving the night.

Finding Anjha dead is a blow, though I'm hopeful that Andii was able to save the book.  This was a lovely heart hurting image:  "Sobbing harder, Andii’s tears fell into the eyes of his beloved. They gathered for a moment then trickled gently down her cheeks, giving the illusion that she shared his sorrow."

Thanks for posting more of this entertaining story.  I'm thoroughly enjoying the world you're creating here.

Spike and Buffy are so cute together!  I hope it won't be another two months before I find out if they kick ass and take names.  And hopefully Faith was wrong about Buffy having to lose Spike to see what she's missing!
