Too Late by BuffyMeetsSpike
Chapter: Out of darkness

You maybe should think about doing a tiny epilogue - maybe have Angel's soul meet the same last final dissolution that Buffy and Spike were in - have TPTB allow his soul into meet a true and final departure.  Right now, with your ending is his soul in hell as Spike's would have been.

Don't have an answer really, but maybe something that you might want to revisit - or just leave it as is - it's a powerful way to end his story - maybe just before his goes into the state you left him he would get a message from TPTB that he will find his final peace.

Hmm. That is a thought.

I shall have to let it ferment with the other ideas I have in the back of my brain. Something could come out of that.

Thanks!

Outstanding -  You did such a great job with Angel and his final act of sacrifice and redemption.  I just hope that Angel, soul and all went into total nothingness - I would hate him having to spend eternity in hell.

Thank you for this wonderful story and congratulations - this was a great first effort.

Thank you, thank you for all the thoughtful reviews.

I didn't honestly think about what happened to Angel. Hmm...,

That was ONE HELL OF A STORY!!!!  I can hardly believe this was your first story.  This is amazing and terrifying and powerful.  I'm glad that after being such a pratt, the poof came through with a real sacrifice.  Excellent story.  Painful, touching, real.  Frightening, even.

Only one thing... I'd give anything to read what Dawn wrote in reply!  Then again, I probably would have been annoyed at her...  Sigh.

Thank you for this,

I have thought about writing a sequel to this one too, starting from Dawn's reply and going on from there. But the idea is still brewing.

This really was my first foray into fan fiction. I am so glad it worked for you - I had to overcome a lot of my own reluctance to put it out there!

Since the last few stories I read from you were so great, I figured I'd check your profile, and I discovered this little gem of a story that I hadn't read (not fond of the Angelverse). What a treat! absolutely amazing, as always.

Thank you so much!  It was my first fan fiction, so I was really self conscious about putting it out there. Glad you enjoyed.

I'm not that fond of Angel and all that either. So I killed him. :-)

Beautiful fic!  (Was this REALLY, I mean, REALLY your first fanfic?!)

I love Dawn's reaction...quick, turmoil and then does something else.
Yes, really, it was my first fanfic. But I literally spent about 3 months writing stories in my head during my commute before I put anything on paper (well, on the computer I mean). I used to write fiction a lot back in high school (about 20-odd years ago) but I had fallen out of the habit. I actually only discovered Buffy for the first time last summer, and it really grabbed my imagination. Very glad you enjoy my stories! I really enjoy the escape of writing them!

Tihs is a really great story all around. Love the imagery and the ending totally too me by surprise. I was expecting Buffy to make her way back and tell everyone what happened, and Dawn would be happy enough to have her back that all was forgiven and they'd live happily ever after,  everything  puppies and rainbows. LOL

Glad you handled it a bit more realistically than that.
Thank you! I think they'll live reasonably happy ever after. But I guess I'll have to write a sequel someday to find out...

I enjoyed that.  Hope you write some more Spuffy soon.
Another work is in progress. Glad you enjoyed!

what  a wonderful and exciting read this has been. For a first fic you hit all the right buttons and made it a compulsive read. I read the last chapter with bated breath, such wonderful descriptions of the action in the White Room. I hope you have more fics up your sleeve - thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Thank you so much! Your reviews have been so encouraging.

I am working on another story as we speak, so hopefully I can get that going soon.

Yikess!!  I never expected that ending.  Hard to believe Angelass would sacrifice himself for Spuffy but I'm certainly happy he did.  Dawn is ever the petulant child, I see.

Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
You're welcome!

And I'm sure that if the police were looking for suspects in Angel's murder, they'd probably be knocking on my door. Now if I could just kill Xander believably, my Spuffy dreams would be complete...

Thanks again for sticking with it!
