Chapter: Lime and Salt

Yeah - a job to die for literally.
Ha... I wanted to come up with something just as bad as the Doublemeat, so this is white-collar hell. :)

awww, poor spike :( buffy's so insensitive to his feelings sometimes...but at least she's opening up to him a little...excellent chapter, love :)
She is a mite self-absorbed, isn't she? Doesn't even realize that he's making her feel better by letting her put him down and recite his failures. Glad you liked it!

Oh that I love, Spike sulking because of his past.
Yeah, leave it to Buffy to bring up the worst time of his life in recent memory.

Spike needs a plan because what he's doing ain't helping.
Yeah, but Spike's plans tend to go pear-shaped... so maybe he's best staying out of it!

Geez, she just had to make him feel crappy to now. That was the wosrt time in his unlife for a hundred years since Angelus was around again. He really is loves bitch, isn't he? Great chapter, thanks.
Yep, Spike is love's bitch, fool for love, the whole deal... poor guy. But that's why we love him so much. :)

Wish he'd snark back at her with the truth, just once. Make her guilty for being so callous. Yeah, it's Buffy, so she's probably not even thinking, but still....

Are we not going to have Sweet's confessional party?

Very realistic that you have her diving into the booze, as most depressed people would be drinking or using drugs (hear that, Joss?), or even cutting. 'Course, if Spike points out she has a problem, she'll just get uber defensive and find her drink elsewhere. Except that she *does* have a problem.

And coddling Buffy about hiding the truth and wallowing in her depression really isn't helping. Just enabling. Somebody needs to do a truth spell on the girl, as God knows she'll stick to denial until it kills her. Stupid.... Sharing the burdens of each other's pain is what friends *do*, Buffy!
Oh, there will be true confessions - no singing (that's my *other* fic) but Buffy'll be blurting it all out in good time, don't worry.

Spike's in such a difficult position - he knows what he's doing is bad, but he can't bring himself to stop, both because he loves her and can't deny her anything, and because he fears that the alternative is worse (and he's probabl right).

Wish Buffy would notice how her words stung and maybe actually SEE Spike for a change. Sigh......

Love this story and never disappointed by the updates.

Buffy's just, as usual, wrapped up in herself.

Thanks for the lovely compliment! I'm glad you enjoy the story so much.
