Oh my god please please finish this story...Does he get through this trial? What happens ok I'm on the edge of my seat here. Stayed up pretty much all night reading it and want more...pretty please!!!
I'm finishing it, don't worry - I won't leave you hanging. My beta has the next chapter and I'm working on the one after that. I'm close to the end on this story, so thanks so much for your kind words.

Spike is nothing like Angel, there is no comparison. He was doing so well, standing toe-to-toe with the Powers. He can't give up now. This is what lead him to getting his soul and so much better then Angel. No way Angelus would have fought for his. The Powers are trying to rattle his cage and he'll make it back to his girl's, I have no doubt. Excellent story, thanks Deb.

it says something about him that that one scene was able to convince him of what all the others could not -- that things would have been so much better without him, and apparently that's not really the case...angelus and darla and dru would have done much the same things with or without him there, and buffy would still have faced countless enemies, even if he wasn't one of them...this is heartbreaking, can't wait to see what happens next :)

Of course, Spike's just being shown the start of each scene. Not enough to base any kind of decision on. Sometimes, I intensely dislike the PTB.

They're just doing a mind screw with you, Spike. You're right about not being able to change the past...and Buffy got over that moment. She still trusted you to look after Dawn, and all was "forgiven" once she learned about your soul. And she loves you now...for everyone to see.
