I think she's afraid to get too attached to this Spike because she's afraid the real Spike doesn't love her anymore. That's the only way she could feasibly expect him to be angry for being this close to him. Wish she would just realize this Spike is the way Spike always wanted to be with her.

Just read all 11 chapters and am so glad that one of my favorite fics writers is still writing spuffy. This story is so good can't wait for more.
