really enjoy buffy and dawn being able to talk. love the rage peeking out at the scoobies.  very good read, thank you.

*does happy dance of joy*  New story, new story!!!  Oh, just loving this!  Dawn is saying all the things I wished somebody would say; I just love it!  Can't wait to read more!!!

Thank you!  I always thought Buffy should know what happened over the summer and Dawn's the right one to tell her, not being prejudiced about Spike.

Really Good Chapter!!! :)

I always thought that Buffy was filled with anger and rage when she came back and that it was her trying to repress it that made her feel so numb. So much of her energy went into holding it back that she couldn't feel anything else. Spike was the only one who could see it and understand. I'm really happy that in your story Dawn was helping too. (Even though she didn't know the whole truth, about heaven.)

The last part, the conversation between Dawn and Buffy, was great. Dawn told her things she really needed to know, and confronted her on facts that she still didn't want to admit to, that Spike could love even without a soul. (It's a shame they never had this conversation in the show.)
Thank you!  I never could understand why she didn't ask what happened over that summer.  Wouldn't she have wanted to know what happened while she was gone since that would affect her present life?  And I never agreed with the self-hatred the show insisted on.  Her anger should have gone outward rather than inward.

Oh wonderful!  Yes she should have been angry and was.  She is more self aware in  your story...understands what she really is feeling and why (and towards whom too).  That is an improvement over canon.

I could have understood them thinking she was in a hell dimension HAD HER BODY DISAPPEARED.....since her body was there and dead....there was no reason for her soul/spirit to have been sentenced to any hell dimension however!  Idiots!!!

Glad  she is listening and learning.

I'm so glad you like the story!  I just can't write the blinkered Buffy that the show insisted on portraying.  I like her intelligent and aware.  And how could the Scoobies ever think she would be in hell?  It made no sense to me.

Wonderful chapter! Seeing Buffy and Dawn and Spike like this is great and touching without turning sappy. Can't wait to see what's next, or if the others will want to butt in with their own ideas of what the Buffy they saved from hell needs. I wish this story is how canon could have gone for season 6, it would have been perfect and in character and wonderful! Thank you!
Thank you so much for liking it!  I hated Buffy's apathy in Season 6 and wanted to explore what would happen if she had been angry instead.

Interesting start, very readable. Let's hope Buffys' anger, doesn't prove as destructive as her apathy proved to be. If she keeps everything bottled up like she did before, It's difficult to see how things can change. Looking forward to more.

Thank you!  I honestly believe that anger is less destructive in the end than apathy, which is why I wanted to explore it here.

This is a really excellent variation on the orignial story!  great dialog and defintely fills in the blanks in a much mroe reasonable way.  This version allows for a realistic progression and set of interaction. Love this appraoch - thanks!
I'm so glad you like it!  I really disliked Buffy's apathetic reactions in Season 6 and wanted to explore what might change with anger instead.
