I’m sorry, William.
    Buffy’s parting words were still burning in his head. Why, why, why did she have to use that name?
Spike remembers his last evening as Buffy's lover. She'd been just one step away.... What happened?

Angel treated me like a fragile doll. Parker played the innocent, saying it was my choice. Riley was real, and human, and we loved to touch each other. None of them were Spike.

“Who said I was blaming you?” Buffy yelled at Spike, her tone not matching her words. “Who said anything about it being your fault? What in the hell makes any of this about you?” Spike finally tries to impart his lame apology for Riley’s departure. Takes place after Into the Woods and Triangle.

“You really think he’s changed that much?” Spike asked. “That because he can feel remorse, he’s not still a demon? He wants to own you, and feed on you, and cause you pain, and you think he’s not a demon?” Spike shook his head. “Believe me. I know Angelus. This is my entry for  seasonal_spuffy and so I have written a "missing scene" from the end of the season 2 episode of BtVS, called "I Only Have Eyes For You".

Yet again I must give huge thanks to mabel_marsters as she has really helped me with this ... She is a true star!

I never liked "Seeing Red," so I wrote a piece on how Spike should have left. Takes place soon after "Dead Things." It's a one-shot.
P.S. This story would change season seven, but I didn't write that far, so it's up to you to decide how it changes season seven.

Non-comic-compliant; this is a future fic in which Buffy has settled in London to help Giles run the Slayer School and Council. She finds an old, neglected home for sale and decides it should be hers. And then something moves into her tool shed and life gets complicated....
