Vampires are supposed to dust, not leave an unnaturally still, empty shell behind after stepping in front of their mortal enemy to save their lives during an attack. A confusing funeral later and Buffy has to come to terms with having lost a lover she would never have called a lover or told her friends about, and the one person who made living bearable after being ripped out of heaven. Life crushes her even harder and she struggles to exist at all. Her only moments of escape are dreams that make it impossible to believe that Spike is truly gone.

Must have:
1. Spike removing Drusilla from the Mansion, but then deciding to go back and help Buffy in her fight against Angelus.
2. Willow's spell to re-ensoul Angel fails. It's Angelus that gets sucked into the hell dimension.
3. Buffy and Spike forming an uneasy friendship (since he helped her save the world and all) and then a relationship developing from there.
Can have:
1. Xander being a jerk to Spike, but coming around eventually. 
2. Willow suggesting to Buffy that she tries the soul spell on him, and Buffy rejecting the idea.
Can’t have:
1.     Angel bashing. 
2. Spike/Drusilla reconciliation.
3. Buffy leaving Sunnyvale for L.A. Either Spike, or one of the Scoobies should bust her trying to escape.

A Spuffy interlude that follows the events in Muzzled.  Almost a Christmas fic if you squint...

Written for Spuffy Haven challenge, Art before Fic. Season Five, following FFL. Buffy is trying to deal with Joyce’s news, her own despair, a distraught sister, a possessive boyfriend and an extremely annoying vampire.

“Skip it. If you love her, skip it. She knows she’s done wrong. You’re both alive. Life’s short and sweet and precious. Love’s the only thing worth a damn. Don’t play games. Take her into your arms and taste her before it’s too late.” Tara comes to talk with Spike shortly after As You Were.

Takes place after "Something Blue," the consequences of the spell brought something that Buffy and Spike never would have expected.

Spike pulled out the small hardcover with its tiny lock. Buffy kept a diary! He trembled as he looked at it. It was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen apart from Buffy herself. He scrabbled at it, grinning, excited to get into her mind, know her thoughts, be part of her. He was wildly excited, suddenly. This was better than her things, her territory, her scent. This was her.

Every night, he saves her.

Buffy begins to suspect that she was meant to be more than Jonathan's sidekick. Some plot, a little drama, a little comedy, a lot of smut. No angst. B/S, allusions to B/R.

Christmas and things are not going too well in Sunnydale. Someone is stealing children.

Sick and tired of getting beaten on by Buffy (despite recently discovering he loves her) and the scoobies after getting smacked around again after trying to help them, Spike gets a spell done on himself so that any human that attempts to attack him will suffer the same pain he feels when the chip goes off. Bloodshedverse Challenge #479 response.

In a slight twist to the events of Something Blue: Buffy takes Spike out for engagement pictures while Giles sleeps off his scotch. What happens when her mother gets the call to pick up her "Engagement Package"?

Will Buffy admit her lingering feelings?

Can Spike deal with the humiliation? 

Or will Giles get fed up & finally stake someone?

Light comedy with just a touch of longing by the author of Love Comes to Town and Learning Curve.

 A future fic (no comics references to speak of) that takes place in an anonymous American city that contains a minor hellmouth and the accompanying assortment of vampires and demons. The Council has provided a fair-sized squad of slayers to live there and keep things under control. Buffy is visiting to see if she can help out with a problem that has arisen. While Buffy is clueless for a while, I suspect readers will figure things out pretty quickly. :)

AU season IV -  Incorporates some story elements from the show, but strictly AU as it is a sequel to a season II ficlet that never happened in canon. Spike returns to Sunnydale to help Buffy defeat Adam. Will the Scoobies accept him? (This story will make much more sense if you've read "Her Last Request" first!)


ETA Wow - it seems that when this fic was moved over here from the old BSV/HoB that parts of it went missing, I will be reposting it as soon as I've figured out what's missing - I'm hoping I won't lose the reviews, but I'm not sure what's going to happen.
