In this fic buffy isn't a slayer I dont' believe but I dont' know if spike is a vampire or not, all I remember is that they meet in a club and the first time they see each other, they get off dancing with other people but staring into each other's eyes. Was it an AU/All-human fic?  This sounds a lot like the first chapter of one of mine, Something Real .  There are no slayers or vampires in this one, but Buffy and Spike meet for the first time in a crowded club, dance with other people in a very sexual way while staring one another down.  Hope that helped!

I read that! I think it has 'whispers' in the title; maybe "whispers in the dark?" I thought it was on here, but I couldn't find it. "Whispers" seems to be a very popular thing to have in a title. Anyway. That's all I have to offer right now. I seem to remember it was a good story, but it's been a long time since I read it.

Spike is there and almost attacks xander after seeing this but buffy keeps him grounded. they get together after the portal closes and I think it all started because Buffy went to spike for help instead of xander and willow.

I read a fic awhile ago where Spike and Buffy fall for each other much earlier. Angel is still there. Both Angel and Spike get hit with a poisonous arrow and Buffy chooses to save Spike but Spike believes that Buffy will never forgive herself if she lets Angel die because he thinks she still loves him so he goes to the mansion and gives Angel the cure. When Buffy finds out she goes to him and gives him her blood to save him.

anyway it was a short oneshot and I think it played in new york but that wasn`t so important. it was built like a short peak into an au version of buffys life. she was in a club and i think she either saw some gys trying to drug a girl or was meant to be the victim herself, anyway she got them out of the club and, well, it turned out she is a vampire and one that wasn`t too pleased with their plan so she killed them. It ends with Spike suddenly showing up and they leaving together and apperently he had turned her (somewhere in after or around season 2 i think) and they are together now.
that is all I can remember, no name, title author or even the site it was on. I think it was one of those author homepages that could be found in the thousends back then (good times those where have they gone lol)
anyway if anyone has an idea i take even the smalest hint I am really searching for a long time already

looking for a fic i read ages ago. Its season 2, starts during the halloween episode. Buffy's costume wakes up some old memories of her past life as a slayer in which she new Spike as William. someone, possibly her watcher, killed spike so she made a deal with a demon that had them reborn. Spike doesn't remember anything at first. i remember something about a sunsrise on a bedroom wall and ticklish toes. and also that spike had to turn buffy to save her form the deal though its not your traditional turning.

I am looking fr a programm/ software something like it that you can use to create an archive on your homecomputer. at this time I have so many stories on my drive, and I really tried to organoze them but it happens so often that i want to reread one and don`t have the titel or author just a scene but I know i have it somewhere yet just can`t find it.
is there something that works like online archives,where for example you make something like filecards for each story and when you have them all you can search in them not just for titel but also describtions as`vampbuffy` or `dark` or something alike.
I am looking for it because I also have a lot of books and am collecting antiquarian books and it is getting to a point where I really need something to keep track of everything.
I did look for librarysorftware but never found an open source or one that didn`t cost hundreds of bugs. so i was wondering how you keep track of you stories and archivate them.

What if you made a spread sheet? listing fics by title, author, and theme, season, rating, or whatever? Then you could search by whatever you knew about the fic you wanted. If you've stored all the fics in one file in alphbetical order by title, you will know which one to go to and can find it easily.Sound like a plan?

I got lucky.  I had a link for a story called Demon's Vow, Vampire's Vendetta at the same site as Auld Lang Syne.  When it didn't link up right I just put the website name into the Wayback Machine.  I went ahead and copied that story onto my hard drive.

You could use a program like Calibre that lets you use multiple tags for each story and then just search your collection by tags.

This isn`t just exactly what I was looking for, it also brought even more joy and fun with it than I thought it would. I just spent the last couple of days going through my files and stories adding them and into my new archive and it is so much fun, I found so many jewels I had forgotten about over the years and I can`t believe that even after so much time I still get to find new projects in my favorite of all pasttime activity - the spuffy verse lol.
It`s always situations like that, that made me realize again what big part in my life "Buffy" used to be but still is. Not just the show and the characters but also how it influenced me, my view of life and other aspects (love, devotion, never stop fighting and giving in your deamons etc) But also, to write and indulge in other peoples stories, and all the amplifications of the fandom, when we collected or fans all around the world came together in other projects for example the `cancer-campaign` or the `fight for equality` that Joss and many other officials are part of as well. I remember when Buffy still was running and every now and then people looked funny at me in the `so you are really looking that show??` without understanding that it is so much more than just some fantasytale of a girl killing vamps.

I guess what I want to say is THANK YOU ALL! For still keeping it alive and not leaving me to be the only freak lol. Thank you for being part of my/our universe and writing and coming up with new stories and ideas and projects and creating a `universal family` so to say all around the world with no borders but just the commen idea and love for our favorite charecters.

Thank you so much for this, nmcil! You have no idea how long I have been looking for a copy of this series! I managed to retrieve every chapter archived on LJ and I've spent the last few days reading up to DL 3.14 - part three - Part three of three.

It's obviously not finished as Buffy is still all PrimalSlayer, Spike is off looking for his Mohra demon, Travers is dead and the Council is in chaos - and it just STOPS! Is there a copy out there that goes further? It's one of the best Spuffy stories I've ever read and I'll be devastated to discover it was abandoned...

Hey.... This is the first time I'm using this, so sorry if I get things a little wrong. I'm assuming that it can go unsaid that what I'm looking for should be Spike/Buffy, yes? Anyway, I don't actually have a specific story that I'm looking for - I'm just really looking for two topics, I guess. The first type of story I'm looking for has Spike as a Seer or just a pyschic of some sort. The second type involves Spike with an eating disorder of some sort; you always see Buffy with these sort of things, and I've never really come across any stories that have Spike having those sort of issues except once when he got a reflection and once when he didn't realize it and was embarrassed when he did. I'd be very happy if you could direct me to those types of stories if they exist.

This is a Spuffy I read years ago - may be more than 5 years old, may be even older.  I don't remember where I read it.

It was set (I think) in season 2 or 3

Buffy and Spike were still enemies

Buffy or both of them are kidnapped and taken to Africa?  (It was a long time ago, sorry) anyway, the point is that both of them ended up there together.

They are trapped with a bunch of demons in some kind of (huge) dungeon/underground demon lair, perhaps under a lake of some sort.  

They become allies to survive - they don't start out as lovers

They eventually fall in love

The story is fairly long -- I don't remember the ending but I think that as time went on, they came to rely on each other.  I think they lived 'under' the lake and had a 'cave'.  
I remember Buffy's arm being injured at some point.

I think there was some 'bad guy' who did this for some reason, but I can't remember whether it was to punish Spike or Buffy or both.

I'm pretty sure their clothes are stolen or Buffy's clothes are stolen.  Maybe just Buffy's b/c I think I remember Spike loaning her his duster.

I picture this underground as having passageways and things growing there and demons that attack randomly... but that may just be the mental picture I developed.

Thank you so much for this, nmcil! You have no idea how long I have been looking for a copy of this series! I managed to retrieve every chapter archived on LJ and I've spent the last few days reading up to DL 3.14 - part three - Part three of three.

It's obviously not finished as Buffy is still all PrimalSlayer, Spike is off looking for his Mohra demon, Travers is dead and the Council is in chaos - and it just STOPS! Is there a copy out there that goes further? It's one of the best Spuffy stories I've ever read and I'll be devastated to discover it was abandoned...

It sucks that the story was not complete - sorry, I don't have any other info - maybe on the Way Back Machine -

That would be Echoes by HollyDB, but you won't find it anywhere since it has been turned into an original fiction. If you contact Holly, she might send you a copy of the story.

Okay. Because LJ is still wonky and I  may not even know about or be able to get to my inquiry there if anyone answers it, I'm going to ask here too.  It's a future fic, not very long, it' s a glimpse into a life where Buffy is married to a shansued Angel and Spike is treated like the old friend and co-worker that he is. When he's in town (and not off on assignments for the Council or whatever) he stays with them in their spare room. But when Angel has left for work for the day, Spike and Buffy indulge in some angsty, bittersweet love making. Nothng changes about their situation in this angsty short story. Spike loves her. Buffy loves Spike and Angel, and won't hurt the man she married for the one who also loves her.  I'd love to find it again and reread, as well as pass it on as a rec.  Anyone?

(Not a pwp - the love-making, if I'm remembering correctly, takes place off-page. It's the relationships and emotions that are the focus of the story.)

Buffy has to undergo some sort of test as a slayer on her birthday where she gets locked in a house with a vampire and has to kill it or survive the encounter.  Giles drops her off under the illusion of going to see an ice skating (?) show and says good luck.  The vampire ends up being Spike and they end up talking instead of fighting, eventually sleeping together.  When the morning comes and Giles comes to investigate Buffy is alive and both her and Spike play the night off as though they had simply come to a truce.  Not sure what happens after that.

Any help would be really appreciated!!

Oh Boy - I can remember reading numerious fics along those general lines. Don't recall titles/authors, of course, but I do know it was a pretty common trope at one time.  You might try checking the "search" function for Season Three fics (and Cruciamentum if there is a place for theme) and use the title of the episode as part of your search. The episode in question is "Helpless". That should help you narrow down the search to any fics set in that episiode.

ETA - here's the link to the results for "Helpless" http://www.bloodshedverse.com/search.php?go=search.  I suspect you'd get even more if you put in "Cruciamentum" and look for it in the summary.

Hi, I am as well (again) looking for another fic I read a long long time ago. seriously I think it went online when buffy season 3 or 4 was running on tv (and i do not mean a rerun lol)
anyway it was a short oneshot and I think it played in new york but that wasn`t so important. it was built like a short peak into an au version of buffys life. she was in a club and i think she either saw some gys trying to drug a girl or was meant to be the victim herself, anyway she got them out of tShe club and, well, it turned out she is a vampire and one that wasn`t too pleased with their plan so she killed them. It ends with Spike suddenly showing up and they leaving together and apperently he had turned her (somewhere in after or around season 2 i think) and they are together now.
that is all I can remember, no name, title author or even the site it was on. I think it was one of those author homepages that could be found in the thousends back then (good times those where have they gone lol)
anyway if anyone has an idea i take even the smalest hint I am really searching for a long time already

Vinum et Rosae is the sequel to an alternate universe story where Spike gets his soul but doesn't go back to Sunnydale because he is wracked with guilt.  Instead, he ends up working with Giles in London doing research and working for a library.  Eventually he returns to Sunnydale with Giles to help Buffy and the others stop a new master from rising.  Everything goes wrong and Spike becomes Buffy's guide in remaking her life as a vampire.  

The story I'm looking for is the sequel to the one described above and unfortunately I don't have the plot of it.  The first story is online in several places, but the second one, Vinum et Rosae, is nowhere to be found.  If you can help, please let me know immediately.  I already have read Sang et Ivoire.

Thing is after a waterdamage in our house my whole computersystem (on top of a lot of other things of my family and me) is completly waste. Not just my computer but pretty much every harddisk or backup I ever had which includes my whole fanfiction-collection. Now, I know some of the stories are still online and therefor reachable at least to some point for me to refind them, however there are dozends of great authors and stories that aren`t anymore, (for example kari mouki or holly and so on) Unfortunatly those 2 brilliant writers are the only ones I trully remember by name so, my question or more plead for help is for anyone who still has copies of their stories to share them with me. Cause honestly I would not know where to start besides those two names there aren`t many specific titels or names I remember.
But don`t stop there, in fact I would pretty much take anything you have and can not or only very hard be found online. Of course you can send me the whole package as well, beggers ain`t chosers right
I collected stories for years, pretty much ever since the whole fanfiction community with buffy and other universes started and managed to safe most of it through the years (which I guess should be a wondr in itself. SHould have known it would lead to this sooner or later; karma sucks.) Loosing them kinda feels like a part of my life is missing. Buffy still makes for a big part in my life, I love reading the stories and actually I think that most fanfiction is better written than most reasent published fiction books or stories and I guess it could also by classified as a form of addiction or to call it lighter my favorite past time activity. Thank you, it is really quite well hard. It is not just the mess and all, my whole family (that is 3 generations) lived in that house for decades and there was stuff (pictures, letters and other `heirloms` and memories my gran carried through ww2 which are now well, lost to some extend, so there really is a lot more important stuff lost than just the stories. But you know, you take it one at a time, I am sure you can relate seeing as you went through it as well. The only upside is that seeing as my father works in Corporate Real Estate Management (i have no idea if this is the propper english word but i have found no other better one, he is not a janitor just some kind of accountant for other peoples or the corporations buildings/ appartments/ houses etc.)  it is kinda his job to deal with catastrophes like that so at least he knows what to do and where to go and who to talk with and all.

I know that there is a possibility to safe data when waterlogged, unfortunate for most of my drives the problem is a hardware and not a software one, there seems to have been some kind of short circuit when the water hit the electronic and it effected my pc and some drives. after having some friends and techies look over it most of my data (scripts, stories, pics and stuff) can not be retrieved through `normal` software recovery programs. (which would for example be used if you formate a drive or similar) in my case the drive would have to be taken apart in what was explained to me some kind of special labratory room. it would cost into the thousands of euros which is especially considering every thing else we have to replace and/or repair just too much money to be spent on at this point. At least most of the real important data (my studies/ job and essays for university etc) was saved at the university as well, guess I should have taken my private files there too, well, learned for the future I guess.

Buffy still makes for a big part in my life, I love reading the stories and actually I think that most fanfiction is better written than most reasent published fiction books or stories and I guess it could also by classified as a form of addiction or to call it lighter my favorite past time activity. Sure hope someone can help - been looking for works by Alira - the TaTF had a listing for a novel length work taking place in Season 5 era.  It was posted as a completed work, but only has 8 or 9 chapters at TaTF.  It was the story where Spike starts a Wolfram & Hart band - Spike was told that his purpose for coming back after "Chosen" was to help Angel on his journey.

Hey, I have been looking for this one fic I read about two years ago. I don't remember much of it, but it takes place during "Wrecked". I'm having a hard time remebering the details but I know Spike gets split into three ort of like Xander in the Replacement and I believe the rod of Thoth from that episode is used in the solution.  The story includes William and Spike's demon, who is in a cage in the basement at some point I  believe, and Buffy accepting her love for both of them.  The demon also loves her and views her as a mate.  I believe the Spikes are having trouble surviving apart or something and the solution somehow involves claiming or bonding or something like that with Buffy.  Any leads would be apppreciated, thanks!

I remember that story. I'm thinking it is by Lilachigh? But that doesn't seem right somehow.  Definitely by a fairly well-known author like that, and not a recent story. I'll try to think of the title and/or check the lists of fics for likely authors.

I'm looking for a fic or slashfic that was written years ago, probably badly so, but I cannot remember. In it, Cordelia (and/or Willow) turns Buffy into a vampire by surprise. There's a discussion between the three and Giles somewhere along the lines about the breed of vampire not being the usual type seen in the buffyverse. Unfortunately, that's all I remember of it.

Lizzerbeathan has written some amazing stories. Unfortunately, I don't have any of them saved, and the archive on which I discovered her is long gone. Have you been on her website?  If you contacted her and asked about it, she might tell you where it is, or put it back up on her site.

I did one set in Season 7 that contains a character who is much like Whistler, although he calls himself something else. He leads Buffy to Spike (in the school basement) and tells her he's a champion and she has to help him get better. Could that be it? It's called "Even Champions Need a Home".

I am looking for a fic were the story is an alternate twist on chosen were Spike survives. The story is basically through Buffy's thoughts were she makes a different choice and Spike survives but they are not talking and at the end after Spike announces he is staying with Angel because he needs him Buffy finally tells him her feelings. The Story is one chapter.

Hi there, I am looking for one of my all time fave fics. Buffy and Spike time travel I think back to the 1800s, he claims her to keep her safe, and they meet up with other friendly Vampires, who become a blood family to them. They speak their own language to each other too, travel all around the world and I think there is a castle, if my mind is not as foggy as I hpoe its not. It is driving me insane trying to remember!

It's usually a good idea to try to include the author's name if possible because often there are multiple fics with the same name. Im looking for a story about buffy and spike. I dont remember the name but it about spike get completely drunk and buffy finds him and decides to take him home. Just bumping this up again. Is it time to begin a new search thread? Perhaps one with a different header?  Like "Fic Search Thread" or something? Or, shall we just allow it to fade away and go back to letting people post individual requests?  I hate the thought of the forum updates box becoming overwhelmed by fic searches again (the problem being that when that happens threads that are of interest to everyone fall off the visible list and it becomes difficult for people to find the ones they wanted to read or comment on). However, I don't know that we've had a large number of fic searches lately and I suppose I could just bump popular threads up occasionally to keep them visible until it seems interest has waned.   Thoughts?

The forum has many topics of interest to visitors, and at one point, they were disappearing too rapidly from the list of latest forum posts (on the home page) due to multiple single requests for fics that cluttered it up. Those requests were often repetitious - someone would ask about a fic that had just been discussed but had slid off the visible updated list on the home page  (they all remain visible if you go to the search topic in the forum) so this thread was a way to keep the searches visible while not making the home page topic update list nothing but fic searches.  It didn't seem as if many people were going to the actual search function to look through it before posting their requests, and the update list had become nothing but fic searches for a while there.

However, if I get enough reasonable requests to do away with it, I'm willing to try. I just feel that it makes it more difficult for people looking for particular threads in other current  topics to find the one they want if they have to go to the master forum list to look for it. Some things there  are very clear - Episode Discussions, for instance - but others are more vague and if they don't remember what category the discussion they want to find was under, they may have difficulty locating the thread upon which they wanted to comment.  With having an always visible thread for fic searches, it's easy for someone to find it and make their request, and easy for others to see that there's been a new fic search post to look at without pushing all the other current discussion topics off the front page.

Slay - a new thread would probably be good.  Maybe you could put in a big red box so people would notice it.  Also possibly list the most frequently asked at the top from this page.  I don't see any point to having multiples.

Thanks Tart. I don't have any way to highlight anything on the update list or on the forum page. I could put the beginning thread in a color, maybe? I like the idea of listing the urls for the most frequentely searched for fics there. I'll have to work on that.

I think there are two types of searchers - those who ignore the home page and go right to the "search" function and start a thread, perhaps not even realizing that it's going to push other things off the updated posts list; and those who only look at the home page and check the updates to see if any new searches or replies have been posted. I just don't know which there are more of one than the other.  Maybe it would be just as easy to let them do their requests anyway they want and just bump any threads that I'm afraid will be missed up instead.  I'll wait to see if I get any more responses before I talk to the other mods and decide what we want to do.

It is set Post Chosen. Spike comes back and Buffy finds out. Somehow Buffy and Xander and Spike decide to start up their own agency in LA to take up the slack since Angel Investigations is out of business. Angel sends them clients and Giles even gives them money! Dawn and Andrew come to stay and help. I think even Lorne and Harmony volunteer their time.
