what a sad game of tug & pull - I must be living in such a dull RL world 'cause I just can't imagine what Buffy is doing and how, for all the love and desire for both of them, this is very cruel, IMVHO, and disturbing for Spike.

Funny the time Giles is trying to support and understand her need for Spike to be a part of her life, Buffy is making things extremely difficult for both of them. Nice treatment of Xander last few chapters.

Nuffy isn't really picking up on Spike's fears.

Poor girl is so afraid that the real Spike doesn't love her that she keeps hurting this one in an effort to keep him. They just need to let Willow do the spell and hope that the time they've had together recently is enough to change things!

Oh wow; imagine waking up to find yourself doing that to the person you loved; I think you're mirroring the episode SR beautifully, in a different way than's been done before; showing Spike's fears of violation, in his new, clean-slate existence. Really, really enjoyed this chapter; can't wait to see more.

Got my attention--I really have to caution you that driving your reader 80 mph and hitting a brick wall is oh, shocking. I am worn out from this chapter, you have incredible range of emotions which you weave beautifully. I am eager for every twist. I'm going into the shop now and get the front end re-aligned.
