During his exploration of Buffalo, Spike discovers that approaching Buffy is going to be even more difficult than he'd imagined. Buffy and Willow learn that there is a new threat in town.

Dawn tries to talk to Buffy about Spike, but is rebuffed, while Spike gets a better idea of the slayer situation in Buffalo. Unhappy with what's going on at slayer central, he calls in a favour.

Determined to make his move, Spike contacts Willow and sets up a meeting at a local bar.

Buffy discovers that Spike is still alive, but their reunion doesn't go as well as he'd hoped.

Spike realises that sitting back and waiting for Buffy to come to him might not be the best course of action.

In L.A. Buffy meets Angel and realises that Spike may have a point afterall and she has to find a solution.

Buffy figures out what she wants just as Spike and Willow decide on a plan that may or may not fulfill Buffy's wish.

Spike begs Buffy to release him from his obligation to her and Willow puts her plan into motion.

Buffy pleads her case to the Power Council but is it enough?

Spike heads home.
