So the other day, I got an email from WHOIS Data Reminder.  It had all my info and stuff, but said that my domain expires on Jan. 6 (which would be a year from when I registered it).  I'm kind of new to domain stuff, what do I need to do?  I'm registered through Lycos.

My dad's domain for his business had this happen earlier this year, except he didn't know until it expired, and then he had to reupload the entire page.  How do I repurchase or reregister?  I've had a free Lycos account for a while, but only upgraded to a domain last year.

You can just go back to Lycos and you should be able to renew your domain with them - if that's who hosts it currently. If you're getting a reminder from WHOIS, they're prolly trying to get your business by renewing with them; they're pretty much the clearing house for domain names.

My site is hosted via Yahoo and as part of my package, they pay for my domain name registration. (I do still get peeps trying to get me to "renew" though.)
