James New CD Like A WaterfallI like it. I posted a full review on my LJ here if you're interested. I will say that, since the first listen, "Not a Millionaire" has really grown on me (I admit to a weakness for race cars), but I'm still skipping over "Too Fast" and most of the time "Layabout," and I can't help giggling at "Birth of the Blues." Other than that, though, I really like the other songs, and I think it's a vast improvement over his first CD.
Thanks for the review. I love his voice and I love the music. But sometimes his lyrics are no good. I agree with you on that. I love James so I have to get me his new CD.
I like it, too. At the first listen I wasn't sure if I liked it better than his other CD, but it kind of grew on me after hearing it a second time.
Prefer the live versions still, but it's definitely better than the production on his first CD. The only saw I didn't know was "When I Was A Baby", which was brand new....and a notable step up in James' writing.

I have the cd. The only song that I don't really like is Too Fast. Speaking of "Too Fast" I have read from one of the James' board that the song was about Eliza Dushku. The title was originally "Liza" but I guess he changed it "Too Fast".
I know that the song "Dangerous" is about Michelle Trachtenberg. It would be interesting if "Too Fast" was about Eliza Dushku. Since the song is basically saying that he could he really fall for her but she wasn't looking for a relationship. I think she has a boyfriend right now though. I think. I guess she met her match. hehe......
Both songs were originally written quite a while ago. "Too Fast" has been altered a little from the first version as he's been trying to have more 'story' songs.
