Jimmy's Got a Secret

Dec 09 2007 08:44 pm   #1Immortal Beloved

From the JM Live site:

"You never heard this from us, but...

April 26-May 4 2008

That's all we're saying"

What could this secret event be?  I'm guessing tour.  Start savin' those sheckles, ladies.  ;-)

Addendum: Oh, the P.S. I Love You premier is tonight at 6 p.m.  I'm guessing that's pacific time since it's in California.  So, that's 9 p.m. EST.  Link to webcam: http://jamesmarsterslive.com/home.shtml

Yup, I know people that are trying to get pics at the premiere tonight. Definitely going to be plopped in front of Mann's webcam!

He always does the tour/events in the UK in April to May, so I'm sure that's what's going on here. Collectormania is that weekend.

Every time I've tried the webcam, it crashed my browser. :( So hopefully somebody will take nice screencaps.

And yeah, I'm guessing the mystery dates are another UK tour. How come he never does any US tours? Even just a regional tour, since I imagine that'd be the most he could manage.

Same thing was happening to me, E.  I was using Firefox.  I switched to Internet Explorer, and it's working fine now.  I think it has something to do with Java.  Make sure yours is turned on.

I can see it through Firefox, it just reloads every 5 seconds.

They've always said that he doesn't do US tours because it's no fair to most of the country - where there's a lot less travel for the UK crowd. The UK crowd also sells out - we don't always.

I don't know, the "not fair" thing sounds pretty silly. James' fans are all over the place - what would be fair would be to change up where he does the tours, so that different fans have the opportunity to see him without having to travel far, rather than catering to the UK people all the time.

Not selling out, on the other hand, sounds like a more understandable reason. He seemed to get good turn-outs for the recent US gigs, though. It seems like there's a ton of fans who are willing to travel no matter where the gig is. Must be nice to have that much time and money to spend on something like this.

I just wish he'd do something in Canada.  I'd have to rob Peter to pay Paul, and then smash Paul over the head and take the money, but I could probably swing going to Toronto or Montreal for a convention or a concert.  But California is just waaaayyy out of my price range...  :-(     And Europe???  Ok, now we're moving in fantasy territory...

It's also hard to do regional things in a lot of US areas, because you have one big city with lots of theaters and hotels, and then nothing around it. I'd LOVE to have more in the US, as the L.A. stuff have been the only things in my reach so far, but I do see where the UK is easier logistically because it's so small.

Oh! There's also the profit thing - if he gets paid in pounds or Euros right now, that's twice the American money. Makes up the cost of flying over real quick, I'd wager. There have been good turn outs here, but not great recently.....not as packed as the GOTR days. I think the greater profile from upcoming projects will help fill seats again, but.....

He did Toronto, hmmm...2005 or 2006, a big convention there....
