What if. . . .

Do you think that Dru and Buffy could have ever been friendly?? What season? I mean season 6 was so destructive, and the relationship in S7 was sweet but they were so busy with the first? Don't you think it would have been kinda sexy? Or even calming for Buffy, one person who would have tried to show Spike's great qualities? Maybe I am just weird? What do you think???

Only if Dru had a lobotomy.  :)P

If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?

Yeah, I'm gonna go with a no on that one, but it's probably because I just can't stand Dru.  I really couldn't see her and Buffy ever getting along.

When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.

Well, I adore Drusilla, but I don't see Buffy having much to do with her that didn't involve the pointy end of a stake; Buffy's black and white worldview doesn't leave much room for people who were tortured and made insane, and then turned into vampires, so...  I'm saying, no.  Drusilla would probably be royally pissed at how Buffy treated Spike anyway.  Hey....on second thought, maybe it would be good if they got together!  Dru can give Buffy that ass kicking she so richly deserves!!

Drusilla didn't treat Spike any better, sure didn't waste much time going to Angelus the second he lost his soul.  The one thing the show was missing was the staking of Drusilla, I would have loved to see that.

No, she certainly didn't, but I always got the sense that it was a family thing;  you know, you'll beat the crap out of your brother/sister, but let anybody else lay a finger on them, and it's on!!  I don't think Drusilla would have stood by and let Buffy treat Spike as badly as she did in S6 (hell, in any season!!)  She would have definitely put a hurt into Buffy for her behavior; she was understandably upset about the chip, so I imagine she would have been pissed to watch Buffy abuse her 'darling, deadly boy'

That was a "Daddy" thing, though. I think before coming to Sunnydale, Spike and Dru were as happy as two soulless vampires *can* be, and I don't think she ever treated him as bad physically as Buffy did. Actually, I don't think she treated him that bad at all, considering that Spike was fine, pre-Angelus. It took Buffy to break him.

A lot of Spike lovers like to put more on Dru than she actually *did* because they're on Spike's side, but it doesn't make it fact.

I agree with Caro.  Drusilla never actually raised her hand to Spike (cept for that one time in "Becoming part 2).  Spike actually complained how she wouldn't hurt him, or set him on fire...They seemed to have been solid for the better part of a hundred plus years, then she got sick, and Angelus came back...I can't fathom an instance when she would have hit him.  Hurt him emotionally those first few years cause she wanted to be shared between him and her daddy?  True, but not physically.  Even the whole Angelus thing didn't rub him the wrong way fourteen years into being turned, if "The Girl in Question" is any indication.  He only gets pissed again in Sunnydale, over a century later.

I've read several fics in which Dru and Buffy cooperate to save Spike, or Buffy calls for Dru, or Dru helps them, and so forth. Most of them were very well-written, and therefore quite believable.   I like Dru most of the time, so I have no problem with stories that have her finding some peace and happiness.

Hmm, well I like Dru. I think she's a very tragic character. But honestly, even besides what Buffy did to Spike, which I think Drusilla probably would have had a few words about because I think she still considers Spike hers even if they're not together anymore, I don't think Buffy could handle being around Drusilla. Because Drusilla is evidence of Angel's more henious crimes as Angelus, and I don't think she could take being confronted with it on a long term basis. Her rose-tinted glasses where Angel's concerned would probably become blurred the more she was around her.

And Drusilla, not only did her 'daddy' fixate on Buffy instead of on her most of her stint in Sunnydale, but her 'prince' the one she made for herself and who was probably suppose to stay with her till dust do them part, he fell in love with another woman. Dru always struck me as very possessive and I don't think she could handle being around a slayer who took the two men she considered hers.

Interesting that Buffy never gets around to tracking Dru down and staking her, which she certainly should have done after the incident on the train, not to mention Dru's giving Buffy a buzz with a cattle prod.
If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?
