Non Buffy Fanfiction

I'm just wondering if anyone reads any non-BTVS fanfiction and from what?

I've read a few Firefly fics.  Not that I seek them out, but sometimes friends will rec something good. I'm very impressed with the quality of the ones I've seen.  I don't think I would go looking for fan fic in other fandoms.

I guess I should add that I've written one Spike/Jack Torchwood crossover. Haven't gone looking for Torchwood fics though - I'm really not that into the characters. Anaross is working on one that is a Spike/John/Jack crossover and I will, of course, be following that.

While BTVS is my absolute fave to read and spuffy my couple of choice, I have to admit that I enjoy reading, at times, X-files fanfic of the romance type.  I loved that show when it was on and watched it faithfully.   My two fave couples then are Spike/Buffy and Scully and Mulder.  I went thru a time when I needed a short break from the Buffyverse and the Xfiles was what I read during that time.

Even though I have seen all the Harry Potter films, that particular fandom holds no interest for me, and I have no earthly idea what goes on with Firefily and no desire to.

Outside of the Buffy fandom I read fics for Smallville, the Highlander movies and series (one of my first fandoms and one I want to write more fic for), The Dresden Files, Forever Knight, and Supernatural (which I also write fic for).

Now the fandoms I read that are crossed over with Buffy are too long to list. :P

I used to really love Veronica Mars fanfiction, and I will still read it once in a while but nothing in comparison to Buffy fanfic.  The first fanfiction I ever read was for Roswell and I thought it was the neatest thing when I found it, but it wasn’t until I found out about fanfic for Buffy and Veronica Mars that I realized what it was or even that it was called fanfiction.

I really enjoyed The Dresden Files, reading some of the books right now - I purchased the season as well - I was so sorry to see that it was cancelled without giving the series time to develop an audience - it was getting better with each episode -

A few months ago I really got into the Harry Potter fandom with Hermione-centric fics. Dramione is my first love but I'm writing one now with her and Abraxas/Lucius (too confusing to explain now, haha)

The only other fan fiction I've read was for a soap couple that the writers waited ten years to actually put together.  Lucas/Sami or Lumi from Days of Our Lives.  I don't even watch the show anymore, but I sometimes go back and read my favorite fan fic stories that were a hundred times better than the actual show : )

That was my first introduction to fan fiction.  Other than that, I've only read BTVS and AtS fan fiction.  I've ventured a look at other fandoms, but I can't get  into it.

I think I have to feel very strongly about the characters to want to read fan fiction about them.  That rarely is the case with me.

I read Torchwood fanfic and, of course, The West Wing fic, which is, on the whole, extremely well written.  The Josh/Donna fics are usually splendid and ease the pain of not seeing them on screen any more!

I also read Vorkosigan fic wherever I can find it but that comes from Lois Mcmaster Bujold's books, not a movie or TV series.

But so far I only write BTVS and ATs fic.  I'm not brave enough to try the Vor fic and not knowledgeable enough about American politics to try TWW.

My other main fandom is Harry Potter, though BTVS is the one I like the most.

I sometimes venture into other tv fandoms that I'm interesting in, but don't usually read the fics long.

I got started on various anime fandoms, which introduced me into the online world of fanfics.  I read ones for several different series, but only wrote in one of them.  When I was Pirates of the Caribbean crazy, I read many fanfics between the time the first and second movies came out, though I don't remember many of them now.

So of course, when I became obsessed with Buffy, I knew it was the type of show to have a large online fanbase, and I hunted out the Spuffy.  Which I intend to remain with for a very long time.  There's just something about a passion for a particular ship that draws you in.

I started reading X-Files fanfic about ten years ago, and then I quit reading fanfic for awhile after some of my favorite sites disappeared.  I've read a few Beauty and the Beast (tv series) fanfics, and also some Labyrinth fics.  Oh, I almost forgot, I also read the virtual Moonlighting series.  And sometimes Star Wars fanfic, but only the old, pre prequel fics.

I tend to focus on one fandom at a time. So, right now, I mainly read and write BtVS/AtS fic. Previously, I've read and written in Sliders and The West Wing fandoms, and I also read 24 fic at one point. I occasionally dabble in reading Veronica Mars, Friday Night Lights, and JM-centric Torchwood (either Capt. John or a Spike crossover), but I don't really look for it, just if I stumble across it.

I pretty much just read BtVS fic, not even all that big on AtS stories as I wasn't really a fan of the show. Having said that, I do read the occasional Firefly fanfic and HP stories by Talesofspike's alter-ego Talesofsnape.

I read Veronica Mars, Pirates of the Carribean, and Bourne Identity/Supremecy/Ultimatum fanfic.

I occasionally read Gilmore Girls fanfic. Although I gave that show up in season 4.

But my main fanfic loves are Veronica Mars(Logan/Veronica) and BTVS(Spike/Buffy)

For a few weeks about two years ago I remember reading every Pirates of the Caribbean story with Jack/Elizabeth I could find, lol.

I have read Forever Knight and The 10th Kingdom fics and have found them mostly very good. I have also read some book based fan-fic, Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake fics and Anne Bishop's Black Jewels fics.

I read a couple short Firefly fics from one person, but other than that, it's BTVS and AtS stuff only.  And pretty much only Spuffy-centric, since I don't go looking specifically for other stuff. Just stumble on it.
