Undead Networks...

The people behind the WB are falling all over themselves to bring viewers back, even though the network died a few years ago due, in large part, to their slaying of all things Joss from our television screens.  The WB is back in web form.  Thewb.com is up and running-beta right now- and you can watch episodes of "Buffy " and "Angel" and many other old friends that used to hang with the Frog.  The site promises original content as well, very soon.  So, what do you say..."Spike: The Webseries" anyone?

If there were to be a "Spike: The Webseries," it won't be live action, I can assure you. Webseries are a struggling, tricky business (I'm not just talking out my ass here--this was discussed heavily in one of my "Semester in LA classes).  The reason why is simply because...people have no qualms about watching stuff they already watched via the web, or stuff they missed from their fave show.  Free movies are okay too.  But today, many people have ADD when it comes to a new series, and having them online, well...the long and short of it is that it's just not that popular yet, and not nearly as much money involved (I'm talking paychecks as well as budgets for a show) as it is in television.  Furthermore, actors and television shows they get work on are heavily competing with reality tv--a webseries, or moving to a webseries at this juncture would be akin to admitting defeat, ringing the death bell of network television.  In addition to that, it's just not a viable option for a large viewing audience, and you can't have nearly as many commercials (e.g. sponsors), and therefore even less revenue.

Anywho, I still think that could be a standalone movie over anything...just saying :P

Just throwing it out there...Stand alone movie for telly, webseries...whatever.  I need something other than the Buffy comics, and "Hell-A" Angel-style.  Thank goodness I can write my own fanfic for others to enjoy! :P

Oh, I didn't mean standalone movie for tv--I meant standalone movie.  Spike, the Vampire Vigilante on the streets of...somewhere.  Old characters are welcome but not necessary.  Super hero films are the thing now, and why not a super hero vamp for the big screen?  With the right writer, it'd be a kick ass script and film.  I don't think it'll happen, but I do think it's retarded that it's not.

And a really simple way to deal with the age difference from JM Buffyverse period to current JM would be for some kind of intervention, either magic or having him become temporarily human and then re-vamped - handled by just the right person, it could be done in a very interesting way.

Anyone watching the new HBO True Blood series?

James is looking great after a month off to rest, though.....I think with the usual make-up, he could still be Spike just fine. I always thought the bleached hair made him look younger in most light, anyway, because the light color is reflective on the face.

I agree with CM--James does not have appeared to have aged very much.  Actually, at all.  In some pics from D*C, he looks incredibly boyish.  If he went back to the platinum blond and put on the coat, no one would be any the wiser...

He sure looked great with that bleached blond-  maybe I will do my next CAPS film with great Spike face shots or maybe Spike and Buffy.  Definitely want to do a Great Faces of all the characters from both series.
