Spike Love -poll

Aug 01 2009 08:39 pm   #1nmcil

Spike as the hottest Vamp?  Check out the new Sexy Vamp poll -  http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20153312_20153316_20294995,00.html

Our favorite vamp is way behind - and while it makes perfect sense that the New Vamp from film and TV would be ahead - Let's help Spike be in the top ratings.  Show some Spike Love and help move him up - right now even Angel/Angelus is ahead of Spike.

I cannot believe that Robert Pattinson, of "Twilight" is winning, he is the least sexy (to me) one on the list.
I agree nmcil, we need to get Spike on top. No pun intended....well maybe a little ;)

Poor Spike.  Twilight has legions of fans, though, and Buffy has been off the air for a while.  I don't see our boy getting on top any time soon.  :(
Aug 02 2009 03:27 am   #4Guest
Least sexy, yes, but Edward Cullen has a ton of followers, it's scary.  And yeah, Buffy has been off the air for a while now.  I just want Spike to at least beat Angel.
Aug 02 2009 05:36 am   #5nmcil
You know how it is in Celebrity Land - the current is always top dog - It will be a long time before Twilight Vamps are taken down a notch - True Blood "Eric" is starting to get a lot of fans.

But "sexy" - Spike is by far the most sexy vampire in current film history - of all the past film vampires Frank Langella, IMO, is still one of the most handsome vampire -

While Twilight Vampire are super popular, they are mostly teens and young women who are fans - Spike and Angel/Angelus have appeal to all ages -

I am a complete fan of the Twilight books, and the Edward Cullen I imagine based on the books is otherworldly amazing!  The movie, though, was disappointing, and Robert Pattinson is not, to me, anywhere near the hottest on that list. I think people are voting for him because they actually know who he is and feel they should, if they like the books, or even the movie. I didn't know all the names on the list. But really, what's up with his hair? Is he trying to show that Edward is a wild animal with a crazy hair look?

Eric is hot, but too in control. I love Spike's expressions and movements, which is also how he beats out Angel (among many other ways).
Aug 02 2009 06:14 am   #7Guest
I agree about Robert Pattinson, something seriously needs to be done about that mop he calls hair.  As for Eric, I didn't even really like him at first, I thought he was a jerk and didn't understand how everyone could find him so sexy, but now he's kind of growing on me.

I'm just going to quote myself for a second:

That poll is incredibly stupid. How can you not possibly vote for the one that's made of concentrated sex? And I'm not even talking about looks, cause Pitt's on there too, but--no one has that walk. No one. There's no vampire on that list, that when you just see him walking, you think to yourself, "There's just something about you that makes me want to give it to you."

Um..."it" as in blood. Right then.

WHAT!!??

I can't believe this! James Marsters only has 11%??!!?? You've gotta be kidding me!
The only reason this pole was made is because Buffy's off the air. Did they ever do a pole like this when Buffy was on?? NO!!!
You know why??! because everyone knows that If it was made while it was still on, we all know Spike would have straight out won!!!

I need to take some GABA before I have a hissy fit!!!

Someone has GOT to post this pole EVERYWHERE and force everyone to vote for Spike at gun point!

That poll is incredibly stupid. How can you not possibly vote for the one that's made of concentrated sex?

Yes!! it is stupid!! Because we all know that Spike is sex concentrate!

Getting my vote in. nmcil, definitely agree that Frank Langella's portrayal of Dracula was one of the most sexy portrayals of all time. (Fan, fan!)
Aug 02 2009 08:15 pm   #11LisFayte
I remember when Frank Langella's Dracula came out, he was indeed the sexiest Dracula there had been at that point, but then Gerard Butler played Dracula, and blew everyone else out of the running. Gerry is the sexiest Dracula as far as I'm concerned.

MEsh - I always thought Frank L was greasy and smarmy looking.  Sean would have made a wicked cool vamp in his day.

Actually, it's pretty amazing that James made the list at all considering how long the show has been off the air.  Just think there's a whole generation of girls growing up without knowing the Hotness that is James.  Its sad, just sad.
If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?

Mesh, you have to remember Frank played Dracula 30 years ago, of course he has gotten old now, but here is a clip of him playing Dracula.

Uh just a question:

Isn't there some European magazine (which I so wanted!) that did the ultimate Vampire Poll and Spike won it?  I could have sworn I read this on James' site.

These meager polls are the hype because well New Moon is coming out and so is Vampire Diaries.  Not to mention that True Blood is airing right now.  It is true - it's all about Top Dog in the now, definitely not the ultimate Vamp (which Marsters nabbed).

All I see is a bush of crazy a** hair when I see Robert/Edward.  Just me or does this kid need a new hairdo like yesterday???

Well, he isn't that bad.
But that doesn't mean I'd let him bite me. He's better than the guy they got to play Dracula in Buffy.
This is making me think of a movie I saw when I was little....
I think it was made in the 70's and it was about a bunch of lesbian vampires. I remember them being at an all girls school and one of the vamp chicks lured a guy in the forest and let him undress her.

I can't think of the name of the movie.... But the way it was filmed reminded me of The Wicker Man.

I think you can vote again. I went there  to see if Spike's votes went up and it showed me the pole and let me vote a second time.
If you go to that site after a day or two, it doesn't remember if you've already voted and you can vote for spike once more ^^

Totally pissed - just wrote this long message about the Entertainment Weekly current article "The 20 Greatest Vampires" and then hit the wrong friggin key and it all went poof.
Anyway - the deluded group of writers put Angel/Angelus in the 7th place - the great vampire Spike, was not even part of the main article - but he gets Top Spot from the writers of the "House of Night" series - P.C. and Krinstin Cast.

ew:  Who's your favorite vampire that's not your own?
ans:  Oh, my God, Spike (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) Please.  Spike is my boyfriend.  In my heart, Spike is my boyfriend.

ew:   And why is that?
ans:  Because he is the perfect mix of really bad boy and sex appeal.

Wish they had given a more serious and interesting answer - Spike is so much more than Bad Boy and Sex.

From Their Readers' Poll:

42% Eric - true blood
35% Edward Cullen - twilight
10% Bill - true blood
8%   Damon - the vampire diaries
3%   Mitchell - being human
2%   Stefan - the vampire diaries

How quickly the public forgets - all about the new projects - we will just have to keep Spike alive here at the BSV - guess those Brits know a good vamp when the see one.

James Marsters is Spike. He's the one who really created the role and the depth and allowed the layers of emotion to make new plots and paths for the character. I don't think James Marsters would be able to play Spike again, though, especially with how he looks different from his first appearance, and time constraints or other projects might also keep him from being able to take part in a new Spike movie.

If James Marsters couldn't play Spike, I guess I could watch a Spike movie just to enjoy Whedon's writing and ideas, and then imagine JM in his rightful place--but it would be difficult for anyone to live up to the expectations our remarkable, expressive, emotional JM has given us as regards the violent, reckless, loving vampire. (Not to mention the wild characterization shifts that the evil writers have subjected Spike to since Season Six and into the comics--blegh)

And, let's not foget that absolute, sharp-cheekboned, tongue-curling, eyebrow-scarred, perfect-bodied HOTNESS of the original Spike.

Here is a new TV Vampire Poll from SKY Entertainment TV -   This is a very good listing - actually, I like all of the vamps on the poll list very much - But I still go with Spike because of the transformation story.  It is great to see that the BBC vampires are getting into the polls - Mina is from the new Demons series on BBC.   Hope that you will take some time and vote - and that you still like Spike as your fav.  He is still mine.

Spike's at 47% to Angel's 22% and Count Duckula's 9%. Edward Cullen isn't even on the list. :D (Just realized that it's because it's just TV vampires, but it still makes me unaccountably happy. :) )

how about some of the other candidates - do you like, hate or feel blah about them?

I loved the Henry Fitzroy character and liked how Kyle Schmid played the character.  Plus, I like how some of the age dynamics reflected back on questions about Buffy-Angel.  Also, find very interesting how the age dynamics from Emma also bring in the question of age differences and circumstance of time period - looking forward to seeing An Education, another current and outstanding film about a young girl and a much older man in a relationship.

Mitchell from "Being Human" is also another powerful vampire character that I like very much.

EW Entertainment - Sexy Beast Poll

Spike/James Marsters is one of the contenders in this new poll -  he is close to losing to Black Smoke Evil Brother to Jacob from LOST - who was never depicted or meant in anyway to be seen as "sexy"    How about showing your Spike Love and helping him get onto the next round - and NOT LOSE to Black Smokey of all characters.
You can only vote once so Spike could really use your vote -

Spike & James Marsters is losing ground - how about showing your Spike Love and go vote -

The poll has ticky boxes -
