BUFFY
Angel said… this amulet is meant to
be worn by a champion.

A beat, as he deflates. Then Buffy holds it out to him, and he understands her meaning. Slowly takes it.

Been called a lot of things in my

BUFFY
I want you to be careful.

SPIKE
You’re talking to the wrong guy, love.
(feeling it)
This is powerful.

Do you have the scene from As You Were where Buffy tells Spike "I can't love you now." Or was that just my imagination?

Isn't is amazing how just a changed line or two affects the entire mood of a scene?  I have my fingers crossed that you'll be able to successfully post those soon.  Hey, mods!  Can you help figure it out?

I've no idea. If it's just a copy/pasted bunch of text, I don't know why it wouldn't work. Because of my satellite, I often get some sort of error message when posting, but I just hit refresh and it usually goes right through. Sometimes it turns out that it actually was posted and it ends up on here twice, but then I just delete the extra one.  Maybe Dia will see this conversation and have an answer for us.

SPIKE
Right you are, Love. I havent changed, Not a lick.

He saunters forward, daring Buffy to hit him.

SPIKE
Not a slap, not a tickle, not one juicy bit. Im the same, baby, head to toe, the man you loved and hated, slept with and moaned over. And watching your face trying to figure me out was absolutely delicious.

Hes gotten close enough. Buffy backhands him with a closed fist, whipping his head sideways. And he comes right back.

SPIKE
Love the taste.

*Blah blah blah, Xander gets Buffy to go protect Nancy against her giant worm ex, blah*.

Buffy exits, Spike follows her.

SPIKE
Is that it!?! A little touchy feely and then youre off to the batpoles?

Anya, back in human face, watches Spike, appalled. Xander stands beside her. Spike saunters past, styling..

SPIKE
Well what the hell. I want to play too..

He grabs a drink off a nearby table without looking, downs it, grins at Anya - and rushes out, following Buffy.

SPIKE
Beautiful night..

Heh that was pretty damn cool.  I liked what they did instead - Anya figures out he has a soul and he pastes her one.  Cause really, Anya deserved a belt.

What is it with demons - do they come with soul detectors?  Doc observed that Spike didn't have a soul right before he pushed him off the tower. 

Actually, this is after Spike punches Anya and Buffy goes all; "bitch, you haven`t changed at all!" on his ass, so that would have been included too

Veryyyy true. Its mostly just the evil ones who see it, though (?). Maybe its a "you-have-something-I-dont" kinda deal.

My favorite part is when that Nancy chick asks if there's anyone who hasn't slept together, and Spike and Xander look at each other all awkardly.  Hmm, there could be a story behind that...lol!

These are really interesting to read - but I am still in favor with what was finally shown.  The first one with Buffy telling Spike to be careful makes a  big difference, especially in contrast to her "I can't lose you to Angel."  The much more mean spirited text from Spike in the bar fight scene, I think adds too much the negative face of Spike.  Even if the intent is to show an extreme change from his Big Bad cover up, for me he sounds so hateful and bitter.  Have to say that his punching Anya treatment was extremely effective - that was right up there with Spike staking Harmony as a horrific visual. 

Yeah, I agree that Beneath You was rewritten perfectly. I know they had to reshoot the church scene entirely because the mood of the original dialogue was all wrong.

It's a bummer Joss took her concern out of those Chosen lines, though. Would've made the "I love you" a bit more believable and not as sudden.

GILES

BUFFY

school basement with a shovel, acting
kind of evasive. And he's got a "too
charming to be real" thing going on.
I'm gonna look into it.

GILES
Well, that sounds very responsible of
you. Balances out the vampire-on-the-
loose issue.

BUFFY
Nothing's really changed, Giles.
Spike had a chip before, remember?
When The First made him kill and sire
those people?

GILES
We have no way of knowing if his chip
was functioning then. A new chip
might be able to restrain him should
The First attempt to activate him
again.

BUFFY
It doesn't matter. The girls aren't
in danger from him. He wouldn't let
that happen. I trust him.

GILES
Well, of course you trust Spike. He
has slaughtered thousands, and
therefore probably knows all about
how not to do it.

BUFFY
He has a soul now, Giles. That's
what's going to keep him from hurting
anyone. I'm going to trust that
before I trust some chip we already
know can go bad on him.

GILES
Buffy...

BUFFY
He can be a good man, Giles. I feel
it. But he's never going to get
there if we never give him a chance.

Giles hesitates, not sure if he wants to get into this conversation:

 

GILES
I want better for you.
(off her look)
Your feelings for him are coloring
your judgment. I hear it in your
voice. That way lies a future with
a great deal of pain. I don't want
that for you.

BUFFY
Giles, if you're saying there are
sparks between him and me, you're
wrong. Spike and I haven't-- things
are different since he came back.
Just look in his eyes and you'll see
he's changed. There's... there's a
person in there now.

GILES
I see what's happening. It doesn't
matter anymore if you're... if you're
physical with each other. There's a
connection there. You rely on him
and he relies on you. That's what's
affecting your judgement.

BUFFY
You think I'm losing sight of the big
picture. But I'm not. When Spike
had that chip in him it was like,
like having him in a muzzle or
something. It feels wrong. We can't
beat evil by doing evil. I know that.

Buffy turns to head out.

 

GILES
(called after)
I hope you're right. You're gambling
with a lot of lives.    

BUFFY keeps moving, heads into the kitchen, pours coffee. (A new microwave, still in its box, sits on the counter.) Then:

 

BUFFY
(convincing herself)
My judgment is clear.

She drinks some coffee. Even more convincing:

 

BUFFY (cont'd)
Absolutely no sparks.

OMFG, that actually worked! I was sure that stupid DB error was going to show up again.. Wee!


POTENTIAL

INT. VAMP NEST - NIGHT

Buffy punches the vamp off her as the Potentials watch. Spike, unseen by the group, slowly steps back, away from the group - toward the door. Buffy keeps fighting until she's fought herself into position right next to the crypt door.

 

BUFFY
You're dead. So what do you know?
Right now, the only thing you know
for sure is, you've got me.

And with that, Buffy DROPS HER STAKE and vanishes, out the door and gone. The Potentials, dumbstruck, watch her go. As does the vamp.

The doors LOCK shut behind Buffy with an echoing metallic CLANG. Beat. The vamp looks at the Potentials. They cluster together, looking shit-scared.

And he ATTACKS.

EXT. VAMP NEST - NIGHT

Outside the crypt. Buffy joins Spike, who's been waiting outside. She pauses, hearing the sounds of a terrible fight coming from within the crypt. She hesitates, wanting to go back in. She places her hand on the crypt door's knob.

Spike places his hand atop hers, stopping Buffy from re- entering.

They stay, listening to the fighting sounds escalate.


 

Oh, how I wish they would have shown that last part.  No sparks my ass...lol!

Thank you so much for posting more of your "deleted scenes"  we are starting a discussion over at Buffytube with the "dailies" deleted scenes and episodes, particularly season 6 - so these are a great resource for us. 

Hi! I recently had a very boring day, everything was going wrong, and I was feeling down. To take my mind off things, I decided to look for a light-hearted game and stumbled upon plinko game online. At first, it seemed too simple—a ball falls down, bounces off pins, and that's it. But after a couple of minutes, I realized that it was precisely this simplicity that was so addictive. I sat and waited for each outcome, as if I were watching a little show. At first, I thought I would play once, but then I didn't notice how half an hour had passed. And you know, my mood really did improve. It might not seem like much, but a smile appeared on my face. I highly recommend trying it, especially when you want to relax a little and take your mind off your worries.
