Buffy's True Love
Okay, I've read that Joss Whedon has said that Spike is Buffy's true love in a few different posts on the forum. Does anyone remember the interview or article that they read this in? It would warm the cockles of my heart 
I'd suggest looking at Whedonesque. Simon runs the board there, and he could probably tell you where to find the exact quote.

I've never heard that before. I thought Joss just said that Buffy was in love with Spike at the end of the series, not that he was her "true love." If he did, though, then that is very cool. Please someone post the source if they can find it.
I've heard on the Angel s5 DVD set that in fact, it is Spike and Angel who are true soulmates/true loves. I didn't believe Buffy when she told Spike she loved him- it seemed forced in the acting (to me).

really? That's funny but I don't think I really believe you. It's a fun ideal though. It's not Spuffy, it's not Bangel, it's Spangel! Buffy can have Riley. They deserve each other *says such abusive stuff about Riley that dia kicks her off the site.*
Even I don't think Buffy meant it when she told Spike she loved him in Chosen. She loved him but she loved Egypt more.

I disagree, on the dvd Joss says he likes them as a couple, not meaning slash, but more about their chemistry and such. They are funny together. But this was all after BTVS had been over for a while, so it's normal for Joss to take a new standpoint on the issue. At the time Spike was stuck on ATS and was going to be there for as long as it continued which happily for me was only one season. No more holding back,degrading Spike because angel was the lead. I'm curious to see how Joss will use Spike in his season8 comics.
I did believe Buffy meant the "I love you", it's clearly written on her face, it just wasn't time for them yet, he had to go be a hero.
