BSV Forum - General - The Bloodshedpub Fanfic Break I've got to take a break. I hate to do it because I know people are waiting on updates on a couple of things and I know inevitably when I take a break that I lose some readers, people who just have either forgotten what happened before cause it's been so long, or just can't get back into it again. I had a lot of readers drop off from P&F when I took a break and probably the same will happen with FA, so I hate to do it but I've got to. Right now, in other writing, I'm finishing edits on a paranormal romance and also writing the rough draft of an erotica. The erotica is incredibly emotionally exhausting to write because it's very dark and yeah. I mean I think the end result will be worth it, but it's hard to write and I can't have "oh god I have to update this fanfic story" going on in the background. I think I'm going to take about a month off from the fanfic and then come back and really try to finish FA and P&F I hate to leave WIPs hanging out there like that. After that I probably won't post any part of a story until I have the entire thing written. I'll probably space out chapter posts by a couple of days cause I'm a feedback whore, but I really don't want to have it "looming unfinished" so to speak. Anyway that was long, rambly and sorta kinda pretentious. I just wanted to let you guys know if you think I've fallen off the planet or abandoned a story you're reading, I haven't...I just need a break to recharge. 1 Feb 21 2007 10:48 pm #2DreamsofSpike :( *pouts* okay but i'm only not giving you a hard time because i've felt exactly that way before, and only didn't stop writing fanfic at the time because i was afraid everybody would hate me for abandoning fics they'd been reading :P and besides, you're not abandoning :) just rescheduling lol and i can live with that hope it all works out *hugs* DoS 1 heh. thanks. And once I get FA and P&F completed I'm just not going to post anything until I finish the whole story, even though I'll post as a WIP (yes I'm so evil i'll hold back chapters for feedback lol) It's just the "stress" is coming from a "I've got people waiting to read this" thing. And the novel I'm writing is seriously draining right now heh. Also, I think my fanfics are suffering. Like I just reread the most recent chapter of FA and I think a lot of it is sloppy. Like I used the word "vampire" entirely too many times. Seriously it was like some kind of tourettes-like twitch. 1 Feb 22 2007 12:43 am #4 Thats okay Zoe take as longer break as you need if you need more than month take more than a month.... Though I know how you feel about having to take the break , as I'm on break from writing to due to my health issuses just now ... Hope you get all you issuses sorted out out during your break and I look forward to seeing your update when you are back to writing fan fic .... As I was told Real Life comes first before fantasy.... :-) Feb 22 2007 01:20 am #5slaymesoftly RL is always the top priority. Just be sure you pop in once in a while to let us know that you're all right. :) 1 Feb 22 2007 02:32 am #6Scarlet Ibis Hey, good luck on your RL projects. Let me know when you seal the deal :D 1 Feb 22 2007 03:02 am #7The Space Between I'm with Slaymesoftly...just keep us posted to let us know how you're doin here and there...or I'll come stalk you at Eljay...not that I won't anyway since the layout thing will be addressed here in a few days :) 1 eh Patti, I'm probably not taking a break from the fandom itself, just from writing in it. So it's not like I'm disappearing or anything ;) Just not updating for awhile. :) Thanks Scarlet, it could be quite a while before I seal any deal, this stuff takes time. :) Even once I clear the "agent hurdle" it could take a very long time to get an editor to buy anything. Space, woot for layouts! :) 1 Feb 22 2007 06:05 am #9GoldenBuffy *sigh* Ok me oh my, what ever shall I do now that Zoe is taking a sabbatical? lol Totally understand woman, we'll just have to wait. Have fun writing your erotica. ^_^ 1 bwahahahaha yeah GB I know. Could I BE more of a drama queen? Like I expect you all to drag out the fainting couch and have a fit of the vapors or something lol. ;) 1 Feb 22 2007 04:13 pm #11The Space Between *swoon* *thud* Ok! Who moved the damn fainting couch?!? 1 hehehehehe :) I moved it. I thought it would be funny. And look how funny it is. :) 1 Feb 23 2007 05:19 am #13GoldenBuffy *passes Space some smelling salts* ROFL poor you, you hit your head. *turns to Zoe* Naughy kitty. Methinks we need Spike to give you a spanking. hee hee hee 1 Feb 23 2007 05:30 am #14The Space Between That is probably why she moved it to begin with...on the offchance that she would be 'punished'. ;) 1 GB, that wouldn't be a punishment. It's the eternal question. Not...how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop, but... How DOES one punish a masochist? ;) bwahahahaha see? Space has it right. ;) 1 Feb 23 2007 06:51 pm #17GoldenBuffy hee hee hee, oh I'm sure Spike could make it worth your while. (did I even say that right? lol I'm so sick). I'm going to crawl to bed. 1 hehehe guest, yes true. Withholding is the true punishment to a masochist. GB, crawling? Is this some kinky little game I don't know about? ;) 1 | |||
