Pets named Spike

Oct 21 2006 06:08 am   #1ZoeGrace

Ok...who has a cat or dog named Spike.  Fess up.  Any other BTVS names?

I have a cat named Spike, ginger.  And a dark colored insane willowy cat named Drusilla (and of course we call her dru).

I have a third cat named frankie.  She had Spike's babies and they love each other.  I wanted to name her Buffy, but Tom wasn't having it.

So next?

My Dungeons and Dragons character has a Psuedo-dragon named Spike... and has has since the mid 80's. lol  He's very cute... with a poisonous barb on his tail.

I have an 18lb Maine Coon cat named Spike.  He's got Gold eyes and fur the same color.  I named him Spike cause he had the whole "I'm a big bad kitty" when he was a kitten  *grin*

Yes, LisFayte, Tom is a meanie...but it's part of his charm.  I think I'll keep him. ;)

hehe shadow.  I just got to a point where i was determined to name pets after buffy characters. At first we thought Drusilla was a boy and she was Xander for a few weeks, then she became Drusilla.

Spike would have been either Willow or Buffy if he was a girl.

Personality wise Drusilla really fits her namesake, she's always been an "off" sort of cat.  I don't think she's all there upstairs.

And Spike, aside from his getting into fights a lot, he's not super spike-like.  Poor kitty, he's not super bright, but he's sweet and a cuddlebug.  He'll let you hold him upside down like a baby.  Most cats hate that.

Mine was the runt of the litter...always having to fight for a fair share ... *smirk*  now he rules the house... to the point he HAS to sleep on my pillow...  just in case (maybe he thinks I'm gonna run away or something)

awwww that's cute.  Dru tries to snuggle next to my head, it annoys the crap out of me.  I carry a water spritzer to bed for protection.  hey I HAVE to sleep, the cuteness factor wears off quick.

Well, I've accidentally called my cats Spike, after reading fanfic all night....s'pose that doesn't count. :P  My boyfriend did try to name my cat William the Bloody for a couple days, when he was still a kitten. Didn't fit, though. He's Scrapper. The other cat is Chase.

"Well, I've accidentally called my cats Spike, after reading fanfic all night...."

I've done that. ::snickers:: None of my pets are named after any Buffy characters either. Though one cat is named Ash. I named him that because when he was little he had this white wirey fur on his back. It made him look like he had sat in a pile of soot. (he's all black now and huge) My husband says he's named Ashley, after Ash from Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. It's not true but he does answer to Ashley. ::sighs::: My husband's a dork. ;)

I've got two siamese cats named Spike and Clem.  We found them in a dumpster and took them in.  The personalities fit, and Clem had this nasty eye infection that made him look all lumpy at first.  (He's fine now, our vet rocks.)  When they were kittens, Clem just loved all over everybody (and ate a lot) and Spike regularly beat the snot out of our big dogs and spent the rest of his time lurking in the dark corners.  C'mon, what else was I going to name them?

All this time, Weyrwolfen, and you didn't mention your cats? Great story! And they really lived up to the names. :D

My friends have a large tortoise called Spike ... they get used to seeing me smirk when they tell me of "Spike's latest adventure"

I named my English Mastiff after Spike.  Though I did not use the name spike. I used the name William.   The dog's name is Madigan's Sweet William..  We call him William and he is on his way to be a champion.  He has 5 points and needs two majors to finish. http://www.madiganmastiffs.com/willie.htm

We took in a stray Jack Rusell Terrier and she presented us with 8 pups before we could get her spayed. It was the beginning of S7 of BtVS and we named the pups, Buffy, Spike, Mr. Giles, Xander, Anya, WIllow and Caleb. There was one born dead and we named her Tara. Caleb was NOT named for the Buffy character but another vampire in fiction. Anyway....the pups contracted Parvo (near the end of S7) and Caleb, Spike, and Anya died. I thought it odd and sad that the three dead "characters" were the namesakes for the pups that died. Buffy, Mr. Giles, Xander and Willow continue to thrive BTW. Funny enough, Mr. Giles LOVES to rip paper (a bit of ripper in him *G*).

Yup, two cats, three dogs, and a snake.  I miss my cats, because I'm off at school and couldn't take them with me, but I get periodic updates on them.  (Clem won't stop chewing on shirts, Spike has the dogs running scared of him, etc.)  Those phone calls are kind of surreal, but fun.
