We can now confirm that 'Ripper' may be given a green light for
development, so is one step nearer the possibility of becoming a
reality. If and when more information becomes available it will be
announced on Anthony's website news page.

I know that I should be jumping for joy, right? But honestly, this scares me more than anything--I just don't trust Joss! What lovely new tortures will he come up with for the characters we love? Who else will he kill off? Who will he pair with who?

*sigh* This is why I would sooner just have fanfic.

I agree. I felt the same thing when the comics came out.

Well, the Ripper idea was always to explore that side of Giles outside all the other characters, so if Joss is still thinking that way, we don't have to worry.

It's going to be a 90 minute movie for BBC next year. Joss announced it at ComicCon today. It isn't a 100% signed deal, yet, but they're feeling positive enough to announce it to the fans.
