I've only just got around to finishing this terrific fic (due to RL keeping me away from fics since July), but I wanted to add my applause for a wonderfully written story. Great writing, characterization and plot. I go weak at the knees when I read your Spike, I want him!

 hee - that's so romantic.  :)  Fun story.  Can't wait to check out the comic. 

 I am so very glad that you wrote this.                 It's an affirmation of what so many of us know about the characterizations of Buffy and Spike in the fandom, that they are meant to be together. The two halves that make each other whole.                  Perhaps I'm too old to derive such pleasure from two characters from a long finished television show, but darn it; I just love them.            This story has all the components I need in a story to really love it. You wrote action, drama, romance and also had me fretting from time to time if one or the other was going to make it.::))                      It's just a lovely read, is what it is, and for me, it's one of the best stories in the genre I've ever read.               I look forward to whatever you decide to write in  the future, and if I find season 9 disappointing, I'm sure you'll come up with something for me to read that will throughly trounce any cockups Mr. Wheadon has in store for my two favourite characters.

Ah - Buffy should have let Angel kill the bad guy.   

Buffy desperate to protect and save Orkanel........rediculous. It comes to a point where enough is enough. This is a human using supernatural means to cause multiple deaths and widespread chaos. I can undersrtand slayers staying out of standard non magical human on human affairs. You made her look weak. That's something she never really was. I've read all of this story from the start (enjoying it thoroughly) but that threw me. If Angel wasn't there what would she have done......let him go? Call the police.....and tell them what exactly? Ok rant over. Apologies.

I hope this review doesn't get eaten. Not sure what happened last time, but I think I may have been on the old site without realizing it.  Anyway -
Yay for rescue (love Illyria!) Yay for dangerous Angel (I actually like him quite a bit when he lets the demon out as necessary) Yay for grown-up Kennedy and Satsu! Yay for Buffy and Willow beginning the healing process.  And much yay for the inevitable Spuffy reunion and lack of denial.   Yay!

Yeah, but the slayer line goes thru Faith, not Buffy. 

Oh, so excellent.  A real pleasure to read with loads of UST-y tension.  Finally!  Buffy figures out who she wants, the villian is revealed (after he stops and gloats)  and the cavalry is coming (we hope)  I do love all the wonderful touches in this story and that Giles' death is not just swept under the table.

Revenge for losing her magic, but to kill all those other girls......she's twisted and so, very evil........And more with the misunderstandings between my favourite couple (you cruel girl you)          One question; there is a happy ending right?                              As always, a fabulous update. You certainly are a gifted writer and I hope you go on to have something published, as so many other writers of this genre have done. I know I'd buy it.

This is the best chapter so far! Honestly, this was fucking awesome. Holy shit! First of all, the Spuffyness. Be still my heart. Finally. So good, so in character, so perfect.  Your killing me here............Awesome update. Love the the interaction between my favourite dynamic duo, but now I'm afraid there's no cure and all...... Buffy's nearest and dearest are probably being held captive or already hurt.......Maybe Spikes' bugs can save the day!........Loved the reference to "Spikes' Queen" too cute!   Though right now I'm anxious, because I don't know where you're going to go from this point, I  still have to say, well done! Excellent writing. The tension to draw the reader in is there,from the very beginning, and you've written not just unending drama, but laughter, love and tenderness. It's really a wonderful story and you're a great story-teller, and yes, it's true, I can't wait for more.....that was a truly wrenching cliff-hanger, you bad girl you!!::))

First of all - sorry for not reviewing the last chapters! I always try to review if I enjoy the fic (and you know how much I fangirl and enjow this! :P) but I've just been busy and lazy lately. Sorry, sorry, sorry!

I'm not only loving to see the Spuffy relationship blossoming into something even more beautiful, I'm also really enjoying the plot. It's so exciting! I don't only read for the Spuffyness but also to see what happens next. (Which means something coming from someone who only reads Spuffy fanfic in the Buffyverse.) But, OH MY GOD.. I just need to fangirl for a while here ... BUFFY AND SPIKE. THEY ARE SO AMAZING. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. THEY ARE SO COMFORTABLE AND LOVEY DOVEY AROUND EACH OTHER AND THE WAY THEY TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER AND LEAN ON ONE ANOTHER IS JUST SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE THEM!

Thank you for not making Spike and Angel get into a pissing contest by the way. It can be fun, but the fandom just loves it when they fight over Buffy like a couple of 6-year olds in stead of the (somewhat) mature adults they actually are waaaay too much.

Ah! Hope rears its head.  Nice chapter. Just happened to catch it here first. LJ is not cooperating with me this a.m. for some reason.  I love the acknowledged affection between Spike and Buffy and the way they ae so comfortable with physical expressions of it.

This is a wonderful story, and I'm very glad to see an update. I especially enjoyed her admitting to herself(finally) that she loved Spike, and of course Spike still loves her, but you've captured Buffy's insercurities perfectly.What's patently obvious to everyone else, she just can't see...................... Poor Buffy, always the weight of the world on her shoulders........she needs Spike to give her the balance she needs in her life in order for her to be happy.................. They are so similar. Both are full of passion and life,full of insecurities, brave and just plain bull-headed at times. The perfect match for each other.......................................... On the big bad side of things...................... the reason for the sickness seems to be found, though we still don't know if there's a mastermind behind it all........and the plot thickens::)) I just really hope your building to a reunion for my two favourite characters.......Loved it when Buffy realized it's not the same if only one is in love, that was a big step towards maturity for her............one could wish that the comics followed along with your particular ideas for Buffys' and Spikes' relationship........he's always been her equal, now he just needs to be her acknowledged partner.............Great story, great writing (as always), Loved it, and I can't wait for more::))

Great chapter. I love the allusions to the comics and how you make them fit into the story without trying to rewrite what happened in season 8. This story feels fresh and organic. Can't wait for the next update.

Those two drive me nuts!  They are never on the same page!  Buffy is truly ruining her future. 

I hope they can figure out what's killing the slayers before it kills Faith and infects Buffy.

just caught up on chapter three and this one, excellent read - will Buffy and Spike stay in denial or will they realise they should be together. I loved the way Buffy was jealous of Illyria, liked the introduction of Simone, she should be quite interesting as she is really one pissed off slayer.  The voices of all the characters are really good, I can hear them as I read - really enjoying this, and looking forward to more.

Maybe Spike could just keep dumb butt Buffy drunk all the time?  Love Illyria.  She's sooooo rude.  ;)

It's a super start definately looking forward to more. Didn't read the comics but heard Angel was the big bad. If it had been anyone else they'd be dust, but as usual Angel gets a pass. Don't blame Spike for being so jaded by events. Hope this time round Buffy has to fight for his love, so tired of him being second best.

I thoroughly enjoy your writing.  Because I'm not versed in the comics, I'm bypassing this one (my loss) until I get the opportunity to learn a bit more and it makes sense.  Meanwhile, I'm just sending a message encouraging your writing, as it's always a treat to read.

Interesting start.  I have such a hard time with the comics that I was reluctant to read this, but if anybody can work with the mess that is Season 8, it's you.  I can't wait to see where this is headed, how everyone got where they are and why...and the teeth thing.  That's just strange.  Anyway, I look forward to more.   Thanks for sharing.

interesting start - liked your writing and good interaction between Buffy and Spike, that comfortable but yet uncomfortable in some way interaction, does that make sense? I like the continuation from the comics - flows nicely and Buffy's demeanour seems just right, looking forward to more.
