I've read your story over the past few days and I loved it.  The fact that the first escape with Spike got messed up with the murder and confused everything was really awesome, their teasing before the relationship was so in character for both of them, and I totally agree that this was a good stopping point in the story.  Can't wait to see if you have anything else written on this site. What?? You cant just stop it now! I want to know more! How does Joyce and Dawn take in the turn of events when they come back? Will Spike's children manage to behave themselves? How Will Buffy take it if they dont, and she catches them red handed? (or rather, red fanged;)) And how will Spike take her reaction? (especially if it is dusting) How will things be progressing for poor Diana? I can imagine she would go crazy within short time of living with all her brothers, and seek the security of her sire's home:D Please do that! You write so good traumatized childish vampire (I have read "bc he needs me" on Just Rewards, that was what made me look you up here:) I am dying to see how Buffy copes with the role as vampire step-mum.

A few technicalities could have been better, but otherways this was one of the greatest fics I have read! Thank you!

I just reread this again after rec'ing lots of yours at Spike_lovin for H/C month. I think this makes at least 4 times. LOL Just love your stories, hon.

Sorry to see the story end, but it's a great ending and a logical stopping point. I'm glad to hear that you may to a follow up about Buffy and Spike's relationship and what will happen to the vampire family. There's a lot of promise in that idea and I'm hopefully looking forward to it. I think it could be really great, if you can think up a bad guy creepy and complex enough to follow in the footsteps of Cordova. I'll have to check out what else you've done; I really liked this story.

Whoredova may be able to figure out that Buffy was involved with the escape. That could give Buffy the chance to get first hand understanding about what Spike, Darian and Diana went through. She is still being pretty stupid.

I love Darian... he's so sweet, and insightful! I am glad he was able to make Spike feel a little beter. It occurs to me that Xander's little tirade may have had completely the opposite result to that which he wanted, and actually be the last little piece in the puzzle that will help Buffy realise that what Spike and Diana did was completely justified and NOT just because they were vampires and unable to help themselves. And oh boy... the shit is going to hit the fan when the General sees those tapes!

I think Buffy is still struggling with her definition of humanity. Thinking that Riley deserved her protection is just wrong. Doing what they did is the only available option they had. He would have gotten off scott free and then done the same thing all over again to another girl. Since the operation is so secretive it's unlikely he would even be discharged from service. Maybe Anya should have a tlak with her about vengeance.

Very good chapter! I loved Buffy comforting Spike despite being so angry with him.. and now that she is starting to calm down a little maybe she will hear him out and realise why they had done what they did. I LOVE that she is beginning to be a little less narrowminded in her view of things. I am really loving this story.

Just spent some time catching up with the chapters I'd been missing on this story and now I'm hooked! Wonderful plotline - can't wait to see how/when Buffy brings them down (she IS going to bring them down, I hope? Tell me now if this is going to a really dark place!) Will be watching for updates.

My goodness, just read all 9 chapters because there was no way to stop. Very intriguing twist on S5, and (I say this with sincerity) never have I HATED Riley Finn so much in my existence. Hot damn, you've brought an evil out of him that amazes me, yet terrifies me for how well *in character* it is. Damn, just wanna kill the jerk for doing those things to poor Diana....poor Spike, so glad he was able to hear Buffy and agree to help. Oh, can't wait for more of this cause I'm totally in awe of this story.

OMG! It's not possible for me to put into words what I feel about Captain Cardbored and his friends. No torture Spike could inflict would be too horrible. I wish Buffy would get over her stupid deal about humans being all superior because they supposedly have souls. She could have been best friends with Hitler. More story please.

Amazing chapter- great Buffy and Spike reunion! Loved it muchly!

This is a really interesting story and for some reason the fact that the initiative people are taking humans, inparticularly Diana, to be turned makes me irrationally angry, influencing me more then a story should. For some reason I have been constantly thinking about life, and things people take for granted, and how someone else's views can impact your way of living. I've been ranting about it for a few weeks, I just can't explain how angry stories about slavery and terrorism and fascism are making me at the moment. And the media does nothing to help. I've taken a stance and am now boycotting all media. I even turn the radio down during the local news. the news is just depressing, and the media only ever plays one side of it, hardly ever accurate, and then the inability to change what happens becomes frustrating. Am I any better off knowing about a mudslide in guata mala? no. I can't do anything about it past giving money. I'd rather live in my own little world, where the only bad stories I hear are about people I know and can do something about. It might be an ignorant way to live, but I'll be much happier for it. OK, rant over, crazy lady going away now... BTW, great story!!! :)

I want to see the initiative run red with blood soon, damn kill 'em all. :)

While she didn't come to protect the vampires being abused , they are innocent. They've done no wrong and are being being victimized by conscienceless monsters. Sounds like Buffy is getting closer to realizing that it shouldn't have been a matter of Human and demon but innocent and guilty.
