Hi! You recced me your fic on lj a few days ago, I was looking for Initiative-related fics. I've gotta say, this story is AMAZING!! Definitely one of the best Buffy fics I've ever read. I wish season 4 actually went this way! I love that you explored those gray areas that we never really saw on the show.

great story, enjoyed the depth you gave to the characters of Tara,Joyce, Anya and their interactions with Spike. The debates between your characters on what constitutes good or evil was well thought out and intelligently written, you highlighted the gray areas of BTVS beautifully.

Good characterizations and some really deep philosophy on good vs. bad and where Spike is on the continuum that clarifies a lot of things. It also shows how a writer can mature--heavy and a bit choppy on the dialog in the first chapter but evolving to rich texture with descriptions of actions and characters' feelings.

This was a great story. It really addressed and handled well a lot of issues I had with the attitudes in the show. If season four had been done more like this fic, I would have liked it a lot more. Buffy really seemed to grow in her thinking, and I love how you potrayed Tara and Joyce. Hope you write a season five sequel to this.

Really enjoyed it, much better version of season 4. Innovative way of dealing with the bad guys.
Thank you and thank you for mentioning my "justice"! No one else has remarked on it and I was pleased to have thought of a way that Tara would not have objected to wishing yet would be terrible to those wished upon. I'm doing a happy dance knowing it was enjoyed.

well, as I wipe away the tears and stop clapping my hands and reeling in the heartbroken sobs that this story is almost over, I will get on to the conclusion...and I hope you continue this story...maybe?
I might revisit one day but the bunnies in the plot hutch have already lined up at the moment *G*. I love that you'd like more and I may go back in time to see S5.

I just can't redeem Riley. For all his being painted as the "nice boy next door" he was a bigot. Just replace the "hostiles" with a human of a different race/religion/gender and you can see it as bigotry with no problem. He really thought he was in the right, just as many a bigot has done horrible things against others thinking it's the right thing. He started out that way and was that way to the end.

Can I say it again? I love this story and I love all the characters except Xander since he is a butthead but maybe that will change but he needs to get over his racism and fast!
Poor Xander, not completely hopeless and has lots of redeeming characteristics. He comes around.

I can't imagine how Buffy is feeling and I feel sorry for what she is feeling. Her world is really changing and oh how I wish it was this way in the show, an amazing tale, girl!

I seriously loathe the Initiative and everything about the Initiative,of course,including Riley...gosh!
But the chap was cool,what with Buffy seeing every disgusting thing they do to demons and vampires.
Can!t wait for some Spuffy.
The Initiative always reminded me of the Nazi campe and I never could see anyone liking them or not finding what they were doing wrong. Riley was always too much a bigot and bully for me to like. Glad you agree. k

If only the show had been like this! I hated what the initiative did and they WERE monsters worse than anything they tortured...you really painted them correctly here...
the last part made me sick, like Buffy and I can't imagine how seeing her there made the demons feel. How betrayed they felt...

I couldn't imagine Buffy as we knew her accepting what she saw there. I remember the season before when she was not happy with Faith killing the harmless demon. I think Buffy had no trouble killing demons and vamps...it was her job after all but to torture and experiment???? I don't think she'd have been okay with that at all.
I like Xander even though he has issues (I think he got past them by S7 though)

I am really enjoying this story and sorry for not leaving more reviews but I read like a rabid animal and didn't realize so many chapters had passed.
I love that you gave Anya a chance to shine and that she opened a few eyes and maybe hearts to the truths she gave.

I loved Joyce's defence of Spike.Really,how can a woman like Joyce have a daughter like..Buffy:the Greatest Deniar?Why can't she see that the world has it's grey and Spike is the one she loves?
Well Buffy did have that terrible experience with Angel and she is quite young. She will come around. I imagine Joyc made mistakes too when young. k
