God what a jackass!  Dawn is right...they should all realize Riley might have helped to prevent Buffy dying and not treat him like the returned hero.

Hope Spike has to save all their asses and they have to realize what he has done.

Poor Dawn, she loves Spike and Riley is not now and never has been anything to her.

Believable update very well done (and sadly too in character).

Well, I think she did like Riley before - but then he left and she decided to hate him. She's pretty quick to switch loyalties, as we well know with her treatment of Spike in S7.

As for treating Riley like their hero... well, they need someone to follow, don't they? The Scoobies always seem a bit lost without a leader. But, yes, he shouldn't be hailed because, after all, he left when he could have stayed and helped.

Dreading what this conversation will be like.  If it wasn't for his promise, I could easily see Spike just not caring - even goading Riley into staking him.  Please update again asap.  Thanks.

The promise is really the only thing keeping Spike going at the moment. Poor thing. Thanks for reading!

No, really not. Everyone else seems to be coping, moving on - but not them. But they keep each other going, which is nice. I always loved the friendship between Spike and Dawn. And I could always imagine them supporting each other through this long summer.

ugh, okay, riley's pissing me off, too.  he seemed somewhat decent in the last chapter, but now he's got a lot of nerve to think that he can control everything and everyone.  basically, he left, he has no say in what dawn or anyone else does.  now i'm worried that when buffy comes back, she'll treat him just like everyone else and ignore spike.  i really hope that's not the case, i want him to leave.  he doesn't belong there anymore.  i'm still worried about the buffy/other, if it's not riley, i'm not sure who else it could be, but i'm really hoping that buffy won't treat him like she did on the show.

Before you go hating Riley forever, please remember that this chapter was from the point of view of a rather upset 14-year-old with a grudge :-) I hope the next chapter will make Riley seem a bit better because I'm afraid he won't be leaving - or this story would be over far too soon!

As regards the Buffy/Other - it does refer to Buffy and Riley, but that doesn't mean they will actually be together. I guess I just wanted a warning to be safe :-) Thanks for reading!
