Always loved the relationship between Joyce and Spike - lovely to see it honoured here even though he's now a Master Vamp.
I loved it too and thought Spike would fall into it again, since Joyce seems to remind him of his own mother. I'm so glad you liked it!

joyce probably has a better idea of what is going to happen than buffy. very good read, thank you.
Joyce always struck me as naive, but very intelligent. :D

IMHO You've got the slow progression of their relationship absolutely perfect. I hate it when fics have YoungBuffy jumping straight into bed with Evil!Soulless!Spike. It should never happen that way.
Gotta be almost time for some real SpuffySmut though... or will discovery by the Scoobies come first?

Nooooo! Poor Spike! And why would anyone run screaming from being loved by someone like Spike?! Besides the whole evil vampire thing, he'd be a great catch! Wooooo must read more....
She ran screaming in canon (and was so callous and cruel about it. I hated that!) Well, she is a Slayer and he's an evil vampire who eats people. Here she's not damaged by Angel, but she's still young and feeling her way and nervous. But I think you'll like the next chapter! :D

¡Yay! Our old friends, the Firoud, make an appearance. I love the matter-of-fact and worldly-wise Joyce, the approach on the Annointed One with intent, and the (whoa, hot!) dancing. The admission of Spike's regard was very touchingly done, with plenty of suspense on his behalf, not knowing how she might react. How lovely that she choose's kindness, but that's what she's been getting, isn't it?
I thought that this Buffy, undamaged by Angel and aware of Spike's difference from Giles' depiction of vamps, wouldn't be as cruel and dismissive as canon-Buffy, and would instead value his offering and be kind. I'm so glad you liked it!

Poor spike.. at least he will have a fare chance without all her emotional turmoil, ...stupid angel ...lol
Yes, it will be easier without Angel's legacy of hurt, but Buffy still tends to run for cover, doesn't she? She wouldn't be Buffy otherwise! :D

I love the pace of this story. Everything it moving along at a nice brisk pace, but it never feels rushed, and you always leave me wanting more. You're pushing out the chapters at a breakneck pace too, and they're long chapters. This is my favorite WIP at the moment.
Most people don't like WIPs, so it's a huge compliment that you're willing to wait! The story's complete and I just have to clean it up for errors, which is why I can post it so fast. Thank you so much for liking it!
