Poor Buffy.  My heart aches for her.  Yet I am also so impressed-- Despite the pain, she still goes out and slays, not giving her back time to heal as the doctor said to do because she doesn't want anyone to die if she takes time off.  She may feel indifferent to her friends, but she isn't indifferent to her "duty".  Very noble.

poor buffy - what a lot for any girl to deal with - but buffy is the chosen one - she feels even more helpless - I feel so sorry for her!

This is heartbreaking! Buffy is so shattered by what has happened to her and has literally become a shell of the person she once was. Three chapters and I’m hooked.
