Sorry for not reviewing the other chapters.

This story sucked me in... It's amazingly written and I love the plot. You point out the mistakes that the characters made in the past and "fixed it" in that perfect (and very difficult) of not making it over-the-top.

Thanks for this. It was a great read.

Very sweet story...  I always wondered what happened to all those jewels...

Ahhh...so sweet!  Loved it!  And the logic of the vengeance makes sense in a circular way.
It seemed to work in my mind.  I imagine the Council (bane of demon's lives) would despise having their Slayer openly together with a notorious vampire. A sweet deal for the demon world.

great story - loved the way you ended it with the Halfrek coda. This is the way I would have liked things to go - great work!
Thank you so much!  Yes it would have made sense (to me at least) to go a route like this if whey had wanted Spike to get the soul and they all needed to have something shake them up that season!   k

“There’s a reason vampires can’t see themselves in a mirror. Too hurtful to see what’s reflected back, what you’ve become, how low you’ve gone.    loved this line - well done!
Thank you.  That just seemed like something a souled Spike would snap to....the relief of not seeing that man in the mirror!  k

This story was great.
I think there should have been a bit more begging for forgivness on Buffy's part about what she said to make Spike leave, but that's just my anti-Buffy feelings that arose from watching season six the first time.
I also love how you had Xander grow up- it was nice and refreshing.
Again, great story.
I try to look at Buffy through Spike's eyes.  He understood that much of her nastiness toward him wasn't personal...she was lashing out from her pain and depression and he was the easy target.  As he said, "you always hurt the one you love,"  she was in a very bad place.  I think she did need to SEE Spike and then she would realize more than just her own feelings for him but also how terribly she had treated him.

Xander seemed to be maturing in S7 and I think this was the start of it (losing Anya).

Thank you!

Great story! Always like happy endings!
Oh yes.  I love angst and H/C and dark stories too but ALWAYS must have a happy ending to satisfy!.  k
