So great to get back to this story - What I really love about this work is how realistic it is and how mature your characters are. It's like all those horrible things that Buffy had done in her persona of the series, and how she had cut herself off from very important parts of her life, finally had a good purpose - to change her life and her mind and heart.
Your handling of the changes for Spike and the other Sunnydale characters was excellent - a very good blending of the series history and your new time and world. Loved how you gave Spike a place of honor, respect and success - it's so good to see him in a position of responsibility and competent instead of the less admirable position the writers gave him regarding his intellect and managerial capacity.
But what a plot twist - I should have seen it coming, but I did not - great way to establish again, why Buffy is the Slayer Protector and what it means to the character - in the past and now.
Hope you have a new chapter very soon.

Man, her thoughts really were depressing......and a level of happiness does not have to mean complacency or......geesh, Buffy.
Guess someone was REALLY unhappy with the verdict leveled. At least she saved Mya.
Love this still.....very interesting and well done story. Little details like the door lock help make those passing years clear too.
