Buffy is just killing me in this one. She gives all of herself for what she does, everyday she gives, and everyday she's expected to give more...more and better and faster. There's no rest for the wicked, and none for her because of it. I know she won't get what she wants, because the show must go on and all that rot, but I'm almost wishing that she does. Let the story end, and let her get some peace. *sigh*

At least she'll get our favorite Englishman in the end. That's definitely worth a bit of angst.

Great chapter.

Her little prayer at the end about broke my heart. She is a sweet girl underneath it all, it's nice to be reminded of that. I like how you show us all their layers and motivations, reminding us that they're both very complex creatures and there are plenty of good reasons for them to feel and act the way they do. This story has become quite a brilliant character study, it's really a very creative premise & you're carrying it off beautifully.

Brushing away a tear. 

I've just started reading this story (characteristically late to the party!) and wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed it so far.  Great plot and characterisations and a wonderful balance of angst, humour and UST.  I am sometimes disappointed by stories that gloss over Spike's flaws and focus on Buffy-beating so  I am really enjoying reading a more sympathetic characterisation of Buffy and seeing Spike in transition.  :o)

Again, I cant wait for the next chapter.This one was really sweet.
