Excellent job of expressing his thoughts, his poor tortured soul needing relief. Even tough Giles knows what he tried to do to Buffy, I'm sure he'll help him. Buffy dead? why would he think that? Suspenseful story. Great read, thanks.
Spike has always been sensitive to Buffy's feelings. He may have ficated on the pain she felt. After all, in a way, Spike has "died" too. And Buffy was shot at the end of "Seeing Red."

oh no!! i hope giles gets there to help him before he dusts himself!!! poor spike! you write his reaction to the soul beautifully...very well done update :)
If I did dust him, it Buffy wouldn't have the chance to be nicer to him than she was in cannon. And, thanks for the compliment!

Wow ... amazing chapter. I hope that Giles gets to Spike in time. Awesome work. I like this plot, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of it.

You do such a great job of getting into Spike's head. I like how Giles touched base with everyone before leaving to Africa, and his distrust for the council is very loud and clear. I am looking forward to this fic. :)
What can I say? I sort of identify with "Spike," so he's easy to write. Touching base is a good thing. It cuts down on the ugly rumors. Stay tuned!

Lucky for Spike he's only a vampire. Most of what he did, he did to survive. What was Hitler's excuse? His soul didn't seem to suffer at all. More dark story please.

I like the direction you're taking story... I always thought it was such a waste of a good storyline not to explore the fact that Spike sought out his soul. Great glimpses into Giles' and Spike's heads. I'm really looking forward to finding out what happens when Giles gets to Africa. Great chapter!
Thank you Rose. I thought it was a waste too. I read that Mr. Marsters told a convention croud that he wanted "Giles" to be the first to find out about "Spike's" soul. Well, I aim to please. ;-)

Nope. She's not dead. But she did get shot at the end of "Seeing Red" this fic starts to AU after that point. Spike's in Africa. Maybe he "missed the memo?"
