I'm a tried and true Spuffy fan, but Buffy's thoughtlessness makes me think that she really doesn't deserve the unfailing devotion of Spike.

Can I just say that I am sick of Buffy making Spike feel like crap. She has spent so much time saying 'sorry' to him and he consistently puts her first. Okay - so she's worried about Giles, but dredging up Spike's abuse isn't going to help.

I really like how Spike helped Buffy see that even with Riley’s placement of an assassin with Giles they might care for Giles enough to go against their training. That she couldn’t just go in and slay all of them but that she needed to give them a little trust. I also really liked the interaction between Buffy and Spike, and the growth Buffy shows with her awareness of Spike’s feelings. RL got in the way and I can’t believe how far behind I’ve fallen with this story, I’m looking forward to getting caught up. :)

Great chapter, but then I keep saying that, don't I? It *really* is. You have again put so much emotion into your chatchters and their words that I'm on the verge of tears.

Spike... what can i say about spike? I *admire* him beyond words in your story. He is so broken but yet so *strong.* His admission to do it for Buffy left me speechless. Wonderful.

I'm worried about Giles now, hope they can make it back in time to save him too. Gonna read and find out, I hope, I've got soem catching up to do :)

I love that Buffy's getting to the point of being annoyed that people keep shoving guns in her face. On the other hand, it bothers me that every time Buffy gets scared, she ends up thoughtlessly hurting someone. Usually Spike. You'd think over the years the girl would have learned, but she never seems to. Ah well. That's what fanfic is for. (:

I like Julian for the villain. He's a creepy little weasel. Maybe Buffy should start carrying a Glock with hydroshock bullets. Good for opening doors and stuff. Excellent Spuffy, more than excellent Spike.
