Tender and sweet and characteristically Spike at the departure. I appreciate your description of Buffy being 'incapable of holding a grudge' and the effect this has on those around her. It's a very true attribute of her, an unintentional sting of associating with Buffy. Giles and Spike's reactions are perfect and touching.
I'm glad you agree with that take on her. I love the characters as much as the next fan, but their flaws made them more "real." Thanks for reviewing!

Gotta love Meret riding in the car (reminds me of a cat I used to have) on the dashboard. Will we find out what's in the Crawford Street mansion soon? More story please.

And I love his relationship with Dawn. It's so sweet.
A very good point how you shone a light on Buffy being oblivious to other's pain. Before and after her death, she was always the last to notice when others were having a rough time, or a rough memory. Considering how Joyce and Dawn are, Buffy had to have taken after her father. She completely lacks that whole empathy gene.
And I think Meret might be able to choose what she sends on to others from Spike, since they have the primary connection? Though, I wouldn't put it past Spike to have that level of control for himself, anyway, since he lived with Dru all those years.

So much in this review I shouldn't comment on yet... As for Buffy's cluelessness, I thought it was an important trait to bring up in a story that deals with empathy/telepathy. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for reviewing!
