{growls at Travers} You are writing this very well, but it is hard to read the darker stuff. I might skip ahead to the last chapter you have up and see if it is light enough to help bring it around. Otherwise I might have to stop reading for another day. Sorry.
Rescue coming very soon. Ripper makes a breif but memorable appearance. Then, the real battle begins...

Wanted to finish this, this morning, but kept getting Fatal error, finally got the rest of the night to myself. Just love it when writers use Giles as Spike's nephew. Since most writers don't review old chapters, I was surprised that you did and I appreciate it as well. BtVS writers may have wanted Sid Vicious persona, but James is to hot not to be compared to Billy Idol, and that's face it, "Rebel Yell" doesn't get any badder than that. And you, dear girl, have emotions pouring off these pages. Great chapter. Thanks.
I am always interested in new readers and what they think. About Billy...I toyed with the idea of giving our, "William" the sirname "Broad," which as it happens, is the name on Billy Idol's birth record. :P

What a fantastic update, you are doing a great job of showing that Quentin’s evilness is not because of misplaced beliefs but because of his desire for power and control. I also like how Spike is using the pain from the horrors that has been committed against him to fight from giving into Quentin.
Thank you so much for the comment. I sometimes think that I get too caught up in the motives and not in the action of a story. I worry that I bore readers with my involved characterisations, so I am glad you're staying with it.
As for Quentin- we all know power corrupts, and those who have power tend to do unspeakable things to hold it and gain more. When this all comes to light... I wouldn't want to be Travers. It could get messy.

Oh my gosh! Travers just keeps getter more diabolical with each new chapter. The insight into his way of thinking was really scary, he's so desparate to hold onto his beliefs. I'm really worried for Spike and Giles. Nice twist to have Spike and Giles related by the way. I'm really looking forward to when Giles gets his mail. Wonderful chapter!
The real evil is those who cannot accept change. I've always had the idea that they were related. Ever since "Band Candy." I have another story on SR with this particular plot twist, check it out if you like. Just click the "Authors" link. I know, shameless plug. :) I couldn't help it.

Another excellent chapter. Neat strategy to have Giles & Spike related. Travers is incredibly evil and I love Spike's resolve. Looking forward to Spike's rescue.
