Chapter: All The Difference

Looks like this is where I let off and what an amazing chapter too! That Buffy finally realized that he was better off without a soul, the one thing that she as well as everyone else, thought that set Angel apart from Spike, not that he'd been different all along. Love the irony! What a wonderful scene between William and Rachel as Giles listened. Thanks for bring up Ben, sometimes people forget just how much darkness Giles still has inside. I'd been waiting a long time to hear this conversation, it makes me happy for both of them, thank so much. What a fantastic chapter.
I never forgot darker Giles. And I think this all depends on the kind of person you are when you get turned. William was lovestuck, and heartbroken-and a bit angry. Ergo lovestruck, angry heartachy vampire. The soul has nothing to do with the kind of person you are. It's all about choices.

Poor Spike has a way to go yet. Can't wait for the next chapter! The relationship with Giles will enter a whole new level.
He's making baby steps. But, thank God he's not in an alley eating rats!:D

very good update, thank you. wonder ful conversations, real and remembered. giles just discovered grey and seems to be trying to differentiate shades of grey.
He is. And sometimes that can be life-altering.

I loved Buffy's eye-opening conversation with Spike. The flashback was so beautifully bittersweet. The last talk between Spike and Rachel really touched my heart, and I liked how it led to Giles ask more questions about the grey areas of life. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming Spike/Giles conversation. Wonderful chapter!
I don't know about you, but I kinda like grey.

Lovely chapter and I hope that Buffy continues to work to bring Spike around. THanks!
She will. But not everyone trusts the "new" Spike...:)

Everything between Spike and Buffy is so emotional, so intense; I really like how they are getting so many things out in the open. Buffy’s horror and the responsibility she felt for what happened to Spike and particularly his response to her statement was heart-breaking. I liked Giles’ memory flashback, how he truly realized that it was Spike, and the questions it made him start wondering about, mainly I loved his thoughts about the soul. I loved how Giles asked Spike to tell him what his Grandmother’s brother was like; the line, ‘I hear tell that you used to be him’ was great, as was Spike’s response. I loved the last line in this chapter. Thank you so much for the update, I really enjoyed it.
Well, now that the cat's out of the bag, why shouldn't Spike be a little more "himself?" Whoever that may turn out to be. Glad you enjoyed the story.

Wonderful, as always...

Everybody's at least a little bit right, right now, aren't they?

Great last line.
Thanks! Perspective can be sharp as a knife at times. Let's hope Giles doesn't go overboard while trying to adjust his, and the Council's, thinking. Not all vampires can be Spike! :) He truly is on of a kind.

Forgivness is a long road to travel, sometimes, especially when you have to forgive yourself.
