I'm just praying this isn't another one where one of Buffy's friends attempts to kill/torture Spike but all they get is a severe talking to and no form of punishment at all because Buffy doesn't give a shit about Spike no matter how much she wants to pretend.
I am enjoying the story but enough stories have her friends getting away with 'murder' just because their her friends and just because it was Spike

no, the guilty party definitely pays for what he's done, in a serious way...and buffy's made a lot of mistakes in this fic, but she really does care about spike in the end :)

Color me surprised, she really does care for him here. Can't imagine where he was taken too. Can't wait to find out. Let it to Dawn to still stick up for him. Wonderful chapter, thanks.

Great chapter from Dawn's fear and concern to Buffy's denial of her own worry and fear. Intense, scary and with that wicked cliffie, kind of evil.

Wow, couldn't believe the number of reviews you've gotten, until I read it and saw why. Then I went back thru and read the reviews and your replies looking for any more clues. Great job! I aure am hoping that you pretty much have these chapters ready to roll, cause I want more.

You have an amazingly strong writing style! This is a well-thought out, well put together story, and I am totally hooked. I like the way you allude to the extent of damage without going into gory detail. The shot through the brain stem is a wonderfully evil way to do so much damage-- very dark & twisty of you, and an incredibly effective plot device. I also like the way you allude to Xander as the culprit without ever using his name, or Spike's name for him (whelp or the boy). Great, great stuff! I'm looking forward to your next post!
thanx so much, your words are so very flattering...i was trying not to get into an awful lot of detail, at least not just yet...yeah, spike didn't use any specific names...not telling who the culprit is yet...very soon all possible suspects will come into play :)

HUMAN! Hah, either Riley or Xander then!! Bloody bastard! Great update. Buffy punting along the Nile and poor Spike with damage (I hope some feedings will fix the damage in time). MONTHS! Gaaaaahhhhhhh. This is scary and as always with your stories...so very well written and compelling. You write THE BEST H/C out there! Keep it coming hon. No one does vulnerable but never weak Spike like you.

Three months is a hell of a long time - could Xander really be such a sicko? I hope there's not going to torture on top of Spike's injuries. Buffy needs a kick up the ass!
we'll see...it wont be graphic if there is any...i don't wanna give away the story...but the spike who returns to buffy is not going to be quite the same right at first...

3 MONTHS??? And he's just starting to gain awareness? and his crypt was cleared out, but for the blood? And no one's tried....did Buffy even check the cave below the crypt, or Dawn?

yeah, it's gonna take a while for him to heal up from that kind of wound, especially not being able to get blood...and yeah, buffy checked the lower level anyway...she was familiar enough with that part of spike's crypt that i dont think she'd have overlooked it :)

I wasn't expecting the 3 months later thing. So is this the original injury or was Spike continually hurt during this time? We shall see. And is the human with him his assaulter or his savior? I just love your stuff!
more will be revealed later...but suffice it to say that an injury of that magnitude, leaving him incapacitated enough that he cant get any blood on his own...it would take a *very* long time to heal...as to who the human is...judging by his reaction to the human at the end of the chapter....most likely not there to help him...
