Thanks for Dawn's idea, what else could he say and in classic Spike at that. Now I think I see why you're bringing in Angel, he's already gone throught this and they think he might help Spike as well, but personally I know he's just going to be the same bastard he alway's is and make this about him and Buffy and not Spike and what he might need. It had been so long since I started reading this that I forgot that Giles and Spike were friends when he left to get his soul. Right? Getting caught up, only a few more to go. Wonderful read, thanks.
You'd think Angel would help, wouldn't you? No, Giles and Spike weren't friends. But, after seeing how devastated Spike was in Africa, Giles thought of all they'd both been through and his compassion kicked in.

This tale is turning out to be quite a tearjerker, so well done. Good on Dawn too!
Someone has to let Spike know that he was loved, and would have been, even before the soul. I hope you can stay for the whole ride. It's gonna get wild- I think...:)

I loved Giles letting Spike know that he wanted to get to know him as family. The sweetness and love behind Dawn and Buffy with the rings, telling Spike that he meant more to them then just the soul, them asking Spike if he would have them, and his response brought me to tears. Thank you for such wonderful updates.
It's what I would do if I had Dawn's knowledge of what was important to Spike. I'm so glad you're feeling the emotions.
