Love that Giles seems to be softening towards Spike - at least a little. Buffy is just a little blind when it comes to her friends, isn't she? How can she be so dense? It seems that she just cannot possibly conceive the idea that one of her so-called friends could be responsible for what happened to Spike. Arrrgh! And the cliffie, that was just a little evil.

So glad that Giles is helping. I have a feeling they're going to need it. Of course he'd feel betrayed, Not sure if it's Riley or Angel but it's got to be one of them and if it's Riley he won't be able to understand that betrayal. Coherent translation: One of the things that I liked about the show was it's ability to leave us hanging, not just at the end of every episode, but before each commercial break. You've managed to do that with nearly every chapter so far. I have never read a fic with such nail-biting suspense.

Ok now I am very curious about who is at the door. They need a beating for all they've done to Spike, and for taking him back to that place emotionally with their presence. i can't believe Buffy didn't notice there was a difference in his reaction this time, above and beyond what he did with Giles. She saw how he needed Dawn's presence to stay in the room with Giles, but he could do it. This is clearly more. I wonder how Spike is going to react to her now that she has a clear relationship to his tormentor, and if she's going to figure out what's happening
