Oh how I wish they had gotten there sooner. I really hope Angel doesn't let this go, as he's the only one that is suspicious of Xander. And what a jerk he was to threaten Dawn and Buffy if Spike tells that he is his abuser. I know Xander thought that he wouldn't hurt Dawn, but part of me thinks he would hurt them to save himself. And he has to know that Buffy will destroy him once she finds out what he did, so I believe he would use their lack of suspicion to hurt them first. I wonder what this terror will do to Spike's progress, as he clearly is going to be terrorized all the time now.

Absolutely love that last line. Whenever Buffy decides to return from her vacation on the Nile, she's in for a world of heartbreak and betrayal. I'm not sure why it is, but somehow Buffy has always turned a blind eye to most of Xander's faults, no matter how much of a lying jerk he's been in the past. I have a sneaking suspicion that he has gotten a get out of jail free card from her before because of his truly aweful home life, but I think that once she opens her eyes to the truth this time, he's finally gonna have to pay. Update soon, please. The suspense is killing me - hanging off that cliff by my fingernails. :)

I have hope that maybe Dawn wasn't so asleep as Xander like to think, and only kept quiet because of the gun. I know from myself being a heavy sleeper, there can be noise all around and I don't wake up, but the moment someone set a foot in my room no matter how quiet they are I instantly wake up even if I'm totally exhausted. I hope it's the same for Dawn. The other option would be for Angel to take Spike away. It pains me to say this but Buffy can't keep him safe as long as she doesn't use the X-Files credo "Trust No one".
We haven't seen Anya in a long while, wonder what she's up to. Maybe she can take Buffy's blinders off. At least she mentions the human torturer first and she need to find out too, although I think it will hurt her even more than Buffy if she finds out that the man she loves /loved is a brutal and sadistic torturer and I would also say killer because that's what Xander has done: He erased Spike's personality totally.

Okay, I can understand her not wanting to believe her friend is the bad guy, but her willingness to believe that all humans are good, and that Xander would have kindness in mind when thinking of Spike is insane. If Spike were having a nightmare loud enough to wake Xander down stairs Dawn who was sleeping next to Spike would have woken up. I don't care how heavy she sleeps. Wake up Buffy!!!

Grr Argh! Buffy just amazes me with how blind she is when it comes to her friends doing wrong. Her overwhelming belief that all humans are good is definitely going to come around and bite her. Too bad that Spike, the one she wants to protect so badly, is the one that will suffer for it. I can't tell you how much I love this story. I look for updates all the time just hoping the next chapter is posted. I can't tell you how many times I have read your stories (might seem a TAD obsessive compulsive)and I am truly amazed at your talent. Can't wait for the next chapter. And kudos for making me enjoy Angel here. Normally I like Angel when he is being a good sire/grandsire to Spike. Any fic where he is the Great Love I abhor. I must say his parting line was genious. Whoa. Xander crossed way over into the Dark Side. When he brought Angel into the equation, did he honestly think that Angel would be a piece of cake?! I want Spike well and fast although I know it's going to be a long rocky journey and you want to keep the angst level high.
