EXCELLENT chapter. I was disappointed at first when Dawn was so close to knowing for sure. But I loved the rest. I thought it did seem like Buffy dismissed Xander, which is why I guessed that she didn't believe him. But I didn't catch Xander's slip about Spike's head. Loved the chapter. On to the next.

excellent chapter, thank you. read the reviews for this chapter. one reviewer called you an "evil writer" in reference to where you ended the chapter. obviously the reviewer hasn't read many of your fine tales.

At long last, the truth comes out. And in a classic mystery bad-guy-gives-himself-away-by-knowing-too-much-information way. *steeples fingers, and murmurs, "Excellent" in a Mr. Burns sort of way*

Now, if you wouldn't mind doing us all a favor, please don't have them try to stage an intervention like they did when Faith murdered the Deputy Mayor. We've been waiting for a good ass kickin', and that would be just too disappointing.

I'm SO glad you let Buffy catch Xander's slip. I was kind of rooting for her to notice, but as it went on and she let him leave, I thought you were going to leave her in denial again. The twist of her confession to Angel and Giles was great.
I can't wait to see their reactions! Of course you had to leave us desperately wondering what's next, you evil writer, you...
I think it's good that you chose to let Dawn follow Spike upstairs - it's in character for her to go after him and try to comfort/question him - she might have called Xander on his slip, which could have been bad. (especially since I'm sure you have some wonderful, terrible things planned) She is also still a kid, and doesn't really need her "hero" brought down in front of her like that. Hopefully, Buffy can break it to her in a gentler fashion.

Yay! The bad guys think they are so smart and sometimes they end up giving themselves away.

I haven't reviewed yet but i've been reading this since the beginning and it's so very good.

I'm glad really that it was Xander because when reading the first chapter he was who first came to my mind- i was sure it had to be him from that chapter and no one else really came to mind until you bought Riley, Angel and Giles in the mix.

This fic has been a rollercoaster of emotion and the touching scenes with Spike and Buffy and Dawn are wonderful.
There's enough angst to keep it emotional but still happier moments to make me continue to read!

I'm glad you have Angel 'on Spike's side' so to speak because i like Angel and would hate to see him as the enemy. Same with Giles.

I'm so very glad Buffy has now figured it out and finally knows it's Xander but the story seems only to have begun because now what is she going to do about it? It's so interesting. Cannot wait to see. Also if she could bring herself to do something, such as make a wish, could Anya grant it- i know she is not at all happy with Xander now and in the show was trying to get people to wish against him but i wonder if she could actually carry something out.

Ahh I'm rambling on so i'll stop now but i have to say i'm loving this story.

I love the last line of this chapter! Xander slipped up in his lies and Buffy was sharp enough to catch him. I do wonder why she held Angel back and why she allowed Xander to walk away. I hope she's merely staying her hand and not that she's planning to let him get away with anything...even if he is a human.

Thank heavens she is finally waking up to the truth. I thought it was going to take more than that to get her to admit it, but apparently this was enough. Now hopefully she'll deliver on those vows of vengance she has been making. The need to act, and do so quickly before he finds a way to get back to Spike. I loved Angel's irritation and protectiveness towards Spike and the fact that he hasn't let this go. Really liked Spike's reaction to Dawn. How he knew she wouldn't hurt him but still really didn't want to answer her questions out of fear of what would happen to her. It's telling that she noticed he has learned to but some guards up and be deceptive since he was attacked in the house. I'm glad they all know now and the situation can be taken care of.

Wow, Buffy stumbles onto the truth. I loved the glib lying that Xander perpetrated. Really think Angel should get to take a few punches at Xander.

Wondering if Willow is going to make an appearance and just what side the just back from the dark witch would be on? There is also the Anya factor to consider. Yes, much left to deal with. I just imagine Xander will try to catch Spike unguarded and steal him away before his spree can be ended. That hate is too powerful in him.
