well, that was nice and surprising. I like the idea of Giles and Anya starting something because clearly there is care and concern there. I was surprised at how well Anaya took the news, not to mention to learn that Xander had hit her before. I can't believe she stayed after that! It's good that she isn't going to try and stop them from getting vengance for Spike, and maybe something good will develop between her and Giles

You know I always waited for Xander to hit Anya on the show, it just felt like he wanted to but was holding back. I could always see the under lying beast that was within him, just as much a monster that they all kept calling Spike after he started to change. Great chapter, luv.

That was nice. I've always liked stories that pair Anya and Giles.
The idea that Xander hit her was interesting - and almost explains why he freaked at the wedding-that-wasn't. He'd already done something that his father did, he was already walking that road. No wonder he was horrified at what that guy showed him.
Nice breather you've given us in the past couple of chapters. I'm scared of what you're planning next, though!! :)

Really liked the way you opened up the bad side of Xander's character. Previously, he was just sort of a violent in the heat of the moment type. (Spike has sex with Anya, therefore I grab a stake and run right out to kill him. No thought required.) Now, he's more calculating, more violent after thinking about it.

Have to wonder about Anya being stupid enough to be willing to marry a guy two weeks after he slapped her, especially for doing what she always does - saying something embarrassing. It softens her character, too.

I feel sorry for Anyanka, and I'm mad at Xander for hitting her. It was nice with a cute chapter, I've always liked Giles and Anya, and this made me smile.

Nicely done. I am glad that Giles is appreciating Anya for the strong woman she is.

That was a very nicely done chapter. Loved the Anya/Giles romance building, and it's sad how Anya isn't surprised about Xander, and what that reflects about the state of their relationship. Can't wait for the next update.

Take away the stuff about Xander and it was so sweet! I love Anya and Giles together. He's much better for her than Xander.

As for Xander, I vote to let Angel have him, alone and in a locked room.
Let Xander met the real Angelus.
