Xander is totally insane, Buffy is an idiot, Willow is gullible and Giles is way too oblivious at times. I don't know what happened to Anya's usual practical good sense. Angel and Dawn seem to be the only intelligent, perceptive people here. I can't believe they all allowed this disaster to take place. Of couse, it could be that the author is just plain evil is why. lol

I knew it....just knew it. Of course, Buffy didn't allow for all contingencies, and now Spike is screwed, unless he can manage to gather himself up enough to fight back. Our only hope is that he remembers what Angel told him about it being okay that he hurt Xander.

OMG! Just when we think its moving forward you add a new twist. This was actually painful to read. I hate the thought of Spike suffering period what makes it worse is the idea that he was put in this situation by Buffy, his supposed saviour. The fact that I'm having this reaction is testament to your storytelling prowess. I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment.

AHA!!!!! Wheeee I am in tune with the master!!!! I just could see Xander enlist a clueless Willow with some magic once Spike was out of his clutches. Whew.... Xander seemed to imply he had more than one trick up his sleeve and that worries me.

Poor Spike and can we all just bitch slap Buffy. She needs to get back to her village, it's missing its idiot. I hope she has to work very, very hard to get Spike to believe anything she has to say in the future...she needs to grovel.

Now Xander....he needs to be locked in the same loony bin as they could put Dru....prfect company and she had a crush on Xander once (okay, magic again but hey).

Another good chapter. Gotta give Buffy some credit for quickly thinking of calling on Giles to try to break the spell. But not nearly enough for me to not want to see some major Buffy-suffering as this plays out. (I know we gotta move to a Spuffy outcome, but your fics tend to make me think that's not such a good thing.)

Thanks for the quick update, but I wonder why you have to have Spike tortured. I am hoping that Spike will come back to his old self if only for a short time and take control of his life, but I am not sure you will do that. Also, can't a chapter be finished without a cliffhanger. Please update soon. Well written chapter.

Sorry if I worded my reaction badly, Dos - I am still loving your story, that point just kind of...got to me.
All of them bickering probably gave Xander enough time for the spell, too. So it's partly Dawn's fault, too. (Mostly Buffy, but a little bit Dawn, and maybe a tiny bit Anya, although I really enjoyed that part.)

When did I say it was inferior? The reason I comment si because it is any thing BUT! It is a very original story, full of twists, turns and very good plot surprises.

However...even a great author can fall into ruts. I've read enough of these kinds of stories to see them coming. And I don't want this great story to become cliche. Which, I feel, can happen to even the best author. Trust me, theammount of writing I do...I know it can happen when you least expect it.

I have played the devils side because you have some many people already cheering you. You don't need another person saying, "This story is soo great!". You need someone that will go, "It's great, but watch out for this, this and this."

Me? When it comes down to it, I would rather have someone bouncing their ideas off me, even if they are slanted negative, then a thousand generic "Good Chapters"

But if all you care about is the generic ones, from now on, all you will get are those. I hope that makes you happy.

Poor Spike, how horrible for him. You're really good at building up the desperation of the situation. Have I mentioned how much I love this story? The spell from Willow was a nice touch. I was wondering how you were going to add more drama to what was supposed to be a simple plan (but as we know, these things never turn out simple). Buffy's going to regret jeapardizing the one she loves.

Once the spell is broken they should use Buffy's thick head to break down the door!

I've been on the edge of my seat these last few chapters. Good job keeping the tension level so high. :)

oh and the sad part is Buffy would have bougth Xander's excuse to stake Spike if Angel Dawn and Anya didn't insist that Xander is the shooter.
