Lovely chapter. It's good to see what a long journey Giles has been on as well as Spike.

Yup, living on the Hellmouth with this slayer and the scoobies has changed his views about good and evil. The Watchers Council know of Angel and his soul, so why are they still so black and white about everything, and Althenea still doesn't know that he has a soul? That was cute when Willow tried to interrupt him and how he wasn't going to be disturbed. So happy for him and the speech that Buffy gave him letting her know of her true feelings. Are they a threat to the Council? Is the Council looking for them now that Trevor has been killed? You just haven't talked about it since their escape. Thanks Wendy, another wonderful chapter.
They know about Angel's curse, and that's exactly why they're so black abd white. After all, this is a vampire...to them Spike is just like him- evil even with the soul. And, in "real time" Spike hasn't been "escaped " all that long...but don't worry the "Old Council" will be showing its ugly self soon enough...:)

Oh, if I may point out a typo...you have "His hands wondered to her hair", where I'm sure you meant "wandered"...just a slip of the keys.

Typo is fixed...but "wondered" kinda works too, doesn't it? :)
As for Althenea, some people are just stubborn. When you think of Althenea, think canon Giles. It looked like he was all enlightened, but as it turned out--not so much.

Awww... The Spuffy interaction was sweet. :) And the Giles/Althenea confrontation was great, I loved how Giles did the Spike eyebrow lift when he was telling off Althenea. :eyebrows: Fantastic chapter! :D
