oh man...that's so devastating...how awful, this story holds out very little hope...but i have to say that the dark comedy of the slayer scenes with andrew and the girls is a nice counterpoint :) great chapter ;)

“Why doesn’t she run away? I mean, seriously, those zombies are slow! In fact - the heck with running, why doesn’t she walk away? I could speed walk faster then those zombies are moving, and that was before I became a Slayer!†Yup, my question when it comes to Zombies....those critters move slower then I do at the end of a hard Friday night! I think I could outrun them even with heel spurs (of course I'd likely fall and then they'd be all over me LOL).
Such humor as these examples mixed with real horror (like the English Channel sequence to begin) are what set this apart and above! Wonderful, just wonderful.
Love this story and the rich characters you have created mixed with those we know and love. Love how the Council's sticking to the "old ways" has hampered the response whereas Andrew's odd methods are at least making sense.
I am actually pretty sad for Riley and feel bad he's ending himself over losing Sam. Makes sense the Initiative has been working the the Council and hasn't learned from its past either.

Wow this is the best story out there. Just killer. (commence eye rolling)
Poor Riley, and check it out Graham wanting to contact Willow out there. Smart and just glad for the whole integration of all groups. Makes for a better epic. Oh and the whole research by movie funny but serious. (he he zombie STD's)
