I loved the Joan of Arc twist, and the scene in Giles' hospital room was very interesting. Wonderful chapter as always!
I'm so glad you caught that! :) No wonder Buffy wanted to be called "Joan" in TR. And, when Mr. Marsters slipped, and pronounced the name the way the French do, in that episode...a plot point was formed. Thanks for reading!

Why didn't they put Buffy in a sleep for a while, so she couldn't do this to herself? They weren't powerless.
